Day Old Doughnut

Wow, how bad will Pittsburgh slap Dallas around next week?

Recommended Posts

cowboy fan here.....bet you guys really slow down mbarber. Romo will not have a huge day but it is hard to shut him down. Dallas should be competitive but taking my rose colored glasses off it will prolly be pitt 27- boys 23.

could be the other way around too......good game i think.....

Well, you gotta consider with Carolina and Atlanta winning today it's a must win game for Dallas. If they lose this one, their season could be over.

That being said, I predict:

PIT: 31

DAL: 7

I hate the Cowboys more than I hate the Pats...with that said, I hope we tear Romo's arm off and beat him with it!!!!!! If we can not only BEAT the Cowgirls, but kill their playoff hopes at the same time????......I'm all for that. I'm surrounded by Cowboy fans, so this win will be extra sweet.........

Usually when your back is against the wall is when you come out and play that much tougher.

Although the Steelers are a very stingy defense I do think the Cowboys have enough key position talent to hang in there with them. If and that is a big IF the Cowboys win that game, there could be no stopping them.

At least the Skins loss keeps Dallas ahead of them.

That really was a nice win today for Pitt in NE. Good for the Jets too. Thank You for beating the Pats! <_<

Dallas has the best pass rush in the NFL. The steelers have the worst pass protection in the league.

Dallas wins big. <_< Dallas 28 Pitt 9

Pitt 42 sacks

Dallas 40 sacks

Pitt 168 pass yards against/game

Dallas 200 pass yards against/game

Pitt Opp QB rating - 71.1 (and will be less once today is added in)

Dall Opp QB rating - 88.1

:pointstosky:

But don't let the stats get in your way pimp-tard.

Dallas and Philly are both in the same boat next week....Both play on the road in games that they should lose, but both have long rests due to Turkey Day games.

Yeah sure, this game will be hyped all week. Trap games are against bad teams outside of the division. That term gets used wrongly week after week.

Me thinks Tony Stinkie Pinkie Homo will be slapped around be the best defense in the league next week.

well, since dallas has the better pash rush, you might be concerned for poor ben--he hasn't gotten much help from his Oline.

:pointstosky:

looking at the schedules, this could be a very interesting game. pit barely beat a cleveland team that dallas had crushed the previous week, and lost to an eagles team that dallas beat also. on the other hand, pit handled washington nicely, and that's a team that gave the cowboys a lot of trouble.

i think it's going to be interesting to see what happens when both teams shut down the run. i don't think many cowboys fans are going to claim that MB is going to see any daylight--pit is going to put the clamps on that. but pit has been marginal in their own run offense, too. if the cowboys D can put up a solid effort against the run and can turn the game into a QB duel, then the game is really going to be in doubt. whether or not you like romo, you can't really argue that he has shown vastly greater big play ability than ben this season.

remember, pittsburgh has only played two complete offenses this season, and both hung 20+ on them. heck, even baltimore scored 20, IIRC. romo, broken pinkie and all, is averaging 260+ per outing, and has put up 6 300 yard performances in 9 games. he has proven exceedingly difficult to sack, while ben has spent a ton of time on his back. and most importantly, romo has established an incredible variety of weapons--TO, williams, witten, bennett, and MB out of the backfield. quite simply, pit hasn't dealt with that wide an array of offensive options yet this year.

i'm not saying that pit isn't a great defense, because they obviously are. but because their own offense is mediocre, it isn't going to take a lot of scoring to beat them. and say what you want about dallas, but now that romo is back, they unquestionably have home run potential every single play. and if pit gets behind, then you have the worst possible matchup--bad protection against a very good pass rush. romo is certainly going to get knocked around, but ben is going to take a huge amount of punishment if pit can't dominate on the ground. and at 3.6ypc for the year, that certainly isn't a foregone conclusion.

of course, all this is contingent upon dallas slowing down the run game. if they do not, it's going to be a very, very grim day for the cowboys.

They played the Giants who lead the league in points and they did nothing on them. The Colts had the most success but a lot of that was on one fluke play to Wayne. The Cowboys will have a hard time next week, count on it.

not defending d_e (i don't like him either), but there are more stats that are just as salient...

rothelsomething:

been sacked: 33

yards lost: 194

romo:

been sacked: 8

yards lost: 52

with dallas and pittsburgh having about the same success getting to the QB, this seems to indicate a serious matchup advantage for the cowboys. especially since romo doesn't have the benefit of the #1 defense in the league to help keep the scores down and stay out of must-pass situations.

i'm just sayin...

except win, you mean?

You were talking about the Steelers defense giving up yards against a top offense douche. And the Cowboys have beat up some cream puff teams the last couple of weeks, similar to New England. Things will look a lot different next weekend when you play the top D in the NFL.

[Dallas can get to the QB well and Pitt can't protect Big Ben. Look for Big Ben to be on his butt most of the game. Dallas wins big!

Ben has not been getting sacked nearly as much the last 5 games or so. Also your D has been beating up some vagina teams, let's see how they do against a physical squad like the Steelers. My guess is not very good.

no, actually i quite explicitly was talking about scoring, not yards. if you can't figure that out, no wonder you didn't understand the rest of the post.

Also your D has been beating up some vagina teams

as opposed to such powerhouses as cleveland, cincy (twice), houston, and san diego?

remember, pittsburgh is .333 against the NFC east. dallas is .500

Well, you saw what killed the Cheatriots. It was the four turnovers and the missed field goal. Again, much like with the Giants the first time we met them, we're going to have to be flawless. The Steelers are going to be happy to host the Cowboys with their rabid proletariat morons who wave a towel around to show their support for their team. What kind of low IQ dunces do that?

Steelers better have their back up ready .. got a feeling its gonna be a short day for Worthlessburger.

I am traveling to Pittsburgh to see the game next week. I heard about a Saturday night rally for the boys at a sports bar called McFaddens somewhere near the stadium, from what i heard there are drink specials for anyone wearing Dallas gear.

Check out the women in Pittsburgh

Nice thread. To the rational, educated Cowboy fans out there (Cornkobb and Sirensong):

Would a Pittsburgh beatdown be worth the disappearing act Pimptaddy/Empire would pull for the next couple weeks?

It has to be close right?

Oh, and against the Steeler O-line, Demarcus Ware will get his

Good point, but I think Ben's sack total is inflated by early season disasters (18 the first 5 weeks). My biggest worry is that Romo will move around and find TO or Witten downfield, but the Steelers have the LBs to contain Romo from moving around...I hope.

seriously, i think the steelers have to be favored in this one, especially at home. but i don't think the outcome is anywhere near a foregone conclusion.

If Dallas actually wins this game, you might even see Pimpdaddy make a return. He quit posting when they started sucking. Of course, his alter-ego Dull-ass Empire took over. It doesn't really matter what name he logs in under, it's the same fourth-grade nonsense.

At least when he's on here he's not out trolling the local middle schools.

I remember pimp saying he was going to honor a bet he made and stay away until Dallas won 4 games in a row. So if that information is correct, then a win in Pitt will complete the bet.
