Day Old Doughnut

Wow, how bad will Pittsburgh slap Dallas around next week?

Recommended Posts

The steelers O-line is not physical. They have been getting owned all year

 I think Dallas wins this. They have way more firepower on offense and their D will take advantage of what your post says.

Dallas has the best pass rush in the league and the Steelers can't protect Big Ben. This will enable Dallas to keep the score low and hold the steelers down to under 20 points. Dallas is going against a very strong Defense that likes to blitz. Pit has not faced a QB as good as Romo this year or a line as big as what Dallas brings to town. Dallas has too many weapons on offense to be held to under 20 points. I don't care what defense they are going against, with a healthy Romo, T.O. Witten, MBIII, Williams, Crayton, Bennett and Austin they are going to move the ball on anyone and I mean anyone. Dallas will win this game! The dallas d is not getting respect and it is crazy. Look at the stats and see they are top ten run and top ten in pass defense. Also top 3 in sacks so it will be a rough day for Big Ben.

good gawd you're a delusional little crack-monkey aren't ya? you were less annoying as pimptaddy, for a guy with "a 200 IQ", you're definitely not the brightest bulb in the box. If you're gonna spout off stats you should pull your head out your arse long enough to see them...Pittsburgh has the best pass rush in the league and is the #1 overall defense in EVERY freaking category that counts...Pts per game, total yds per game, rushing yds per game and passing yds per game and they are #1 in SACKS as well. Hard to say the Cowboys are "the best pass rush in the league" when they don't have as many sacks as the Steelers do. And their schedule thus far is MARKEDLY easier than what the Steelers have faced and the only reason your Cowpies are top 10 defense is because of the offensive patsies they faced in the last 3 games. AND they're playing in the cold/wet/sogginess of Heinz field in December when Cowboys nuts traditionally shrivel.

again, not to defend DE, but in the interest of accuracy...

what is the combined record of their opponents thus far? you say that the difference is marked, so i would expect to see a large discrepancy. i strongly suspect that this is not the case, but i'm open to correction here.

and as for the quality of "offensive patsies", i look through the steelers record and see 2 games against the worst offense in the league, indy at 22, jax at 21, SD at 15, bal at 19, and cle at 27. at a glance, dallas has fewer games against offensive bottom-feeders, more games against top 10 offenses, and have been fighting though injuries to top players.

while there is no question that pittsburgh has the better defense, i think your assessment is going a bit too far.

Dallas has the best pass rush in the NFL. The steelers have the worst pass protection in the league.

Dallas wins big. :music_guitarred: Dallas 28 Pitt 9

As usual, you're wrong.

Steelers have 42

Dallas has 40

Philly has 39

And Pittsburgh is sixth in the league in giving up sacks.

Thanks for playing, genius. :overhead:

I'm not sure exactly the stat, but the Steelers have BY FAR the worst sack-to-drop-back ratio...I think Big Ben gets sacked something like every 14-15 dropbacks, and the 2nd worst in the league is 20 somethin...It was pretty ridiculous...

Wow you served that fool up!!

Also besides sacking the QB the Dallas D is very average, they give up a lot more points than the Steelers Defense. Also it is going to be very cold in Pitt and it is December so Romo and Philips will fail as usual. Steelers 27 - Cowgirls 17

After this game The Boys might have to depend on Brad Johnson getting them into the playoffs.

Then Pimp/Empire can replace Jerry Jone's cack with a shotgun.

Steelers fans must be stupid, because they are showing America's Team no respect.

Steelers fans should be worried about D Ware, and Jay Ratliff, and Greg Ellis, and Anthony Spencer, and Tony Romo, and Terrell Owens, and Roy Williams, and Marion Barber III and Terence Newman and Bradie James....just to name a few.

They're favored and banking on that #1 D to carry them through. Guess we'll see how that works out for them. Who you gonna double up on Squeerlers? TO? RW2? Both? Then Witten or the slot man are going to burn your rectum. Drop a LB back into coverage you say? Then say hello to Mr Barber and Mr Choice (as they go chugging by)

This ain't the AFC North coming to town gentlemen. It's the NFC East. You're 1-2 vs the division. Don't look for 2-2.

Dullus's defense sucks. The only teams with a winning record and more points against are the Jets,Broncos and Cardinals. Those are all quality teams that are going deep into the playoffs, not!!!! Dullus may have some luck and win this game but they will never get as deep into the playoffs as the Steelers because of their lack of defense.

The Stats the Steelers don't like

They like the stat 42, they're number one in sacks. They don't like the stat 8, number of times Romo has been sacked. Good for 3rd.

They don't like the stat 40, we're number two in sacks. They dislike even more the stat 33, the number of times Big Ben has been sacked. Good for 31st.

They don't like the stat 103.2, Romo's #1 QB ranking and 21 TDs, good for 4th and his 8 INT's, good for 9th. They dislike even more the stat 80.0, Ben's #23 QB ranking and his 13 TDs, good for 11th and his 12 INT's, good for 27th.

What they dislike more than any of these stats is the fact that of all the QB's they will have faced so far this season, Romo can make them pay for that blitzing better than any. He doesn't run, he buys time and that's a recipe for big plays against blitzes. When they come, they better get there fast because this receiving corps is better than any they've faced.

Ware is playing at the top of his game Ellis playing well, bradie james, T-New, Ant Henry, Hamlin, Tank, Jay Ratliff. all playing very well. i think by the end of this season our defense will be close to the top if not the top ranked passed the Steelers. which the Steelers has 42 team Sacks while we have 40.i would say DoomsDay is back.

BIg Ben is on his way to being a Brad Johnson. Fat slow and cant throw for crap. With no motivational skills to motivate his o line to block for him.

You do know that Tony Homo isn't tough enough to have started every game this year right? Or is his line not good enough to protect him?

Heres your boy TO giving up!!!! WHAT A LOSER!!!!NO HEART ON THIS TEAM.

IRVING, Texas -- Terrell Owens admitted what his Dallas teammates couldn't a month ago -- at least publicly: The Cowboys were springing leaks long before Tony Romo broke his pinkie and their Super Bowl hopes started sinking.

Owens said doubt crept in as early as the first month of the season, when the Cowboys lost their first game against Washington then answered with an unimpressive victory against then-winless Cincinnati.

After beating the Bengals, the Cowboys complained about having to defend a win and reminded everyone they were 4-1. They did at least acknowledge that what they were saying for the cameras might be different from what they were telling each other. Owens said it for the cameras Wednesday, during Dallas' bye week.

NFL.com Video

Watch highlights from the Dallas vs. New York Giants game.

"I think the loss to Washington made a lot of people raise a lot of eyebrows," Owens said. "I think those two games alone kind of let everybody in this locker room know you got to have sort of a self check like, 'OK, we're probably not as good as we think we are, or probably not as good as hyped.'"

Old news! Dallas has found the eye of the tiger now.

From what I looked at, the Giants, iggles and the Colts are the only decent offenses they've played, lost to all 3. I'm not sure how well the Colts were playing when they beat pitt but they did beat them.

I think their D is good but it's possible it's a little overrated because of their past and a fairly easy schedule to this point, other than iggles, giants and colts...all loses for the steelers.

Dallas 24

Pittsburgh 17

the determining factor in this game will be how well a surging Cowboys defense plays. if they can match the Steelers D, Cowboys win. cause the Cowboys offense is better than the Steelers O.

I broke it down the same way as well but you're not gonna convince Dallas "pimptaddy" Empire. I will allow some of is argument of Romo getting sacked infrequently, as a team I think they've only given up 16 sacks, and 8 of those came during the Brad Johnson/Brooks Bollinger experiment. However, of the 5 common opponents (technically 6, because Pitt played Cincy twice and Dallas played Wash twice) Pittsburgh has played 4 of those on the road while Dallas has only played 3. However, Cowboys defense has also fattened themselves on 2 creampuffs in the last 2 weeks...so I'm not that impressed.

Prediction: Steelers 27 - Cowgirls 20. Rhomo gets sacked 2 times, fumbles once and throws an INT. Big Ben hits the turf 3 times, but throws no INTS.

No sense even trying to convince the idiot. He follows a very strict pattern...he shoots his mouth off about how his team is going to kick ass. If they win, he comes here and says 'I told you so', if they lose, no matter if it's by 3 or by 30, he talks about their Super Bowl rings. He never mentions that they haven't won a playoff game since Romo was about 10.

I am no Cowboys fan, not even close. However, Dallas will win this game and there will be more crow eating Sunday in this thread than in any thread ever in FFtoday's history. I do think Pitt has a better D than the Cowboys have. They do not have nearly enough offense is what will end up being the problem. They will have to pass to stay in this game and we all know what that means. Big Ben will be on his azz all day.

ok this should be a good game but for those saying the cowboys have beaten up on soft NFC teams.....look at who both teams have played....the cowboys have played 6 teams with a winning record ( washington twice ) and the steelers have played 6 teams with winning records....so looks like they have played about the same type of schedule. that being said the steelers won3 and lost 3 to those teams with winning records.....the cowboys 3-3 against teams with winning records so it seems like they are pretty even..... it should be a closer game then some of you are picking and with the weather it should be.....i am picking the cowboys to win in an ugly game 13-9 ........

The Steelers defense is overrated!

The Steelers lead the NFL if overall defense....but look at their competition!

The Steelers play in the offensive starved NFC North with the likes of Baltimore, Cleveland, and Cincinnati.

Currently Baltimore is ranked 19th in the NFL in offense, Cleveland is ranked a feable 27th, and Cincinnati is ranked 32nd (dead last). Pittsburgh themselves rank 20th in offense in the NFL. Not very good competition for any good defensive team in the NFL.

It's no wonder the Steelers are ranked 1st in defense...they play 6 of their 16 games against three of the worst offensive teams in the NFL. Then you throw in the fact that they have played Houston (15th), Jacksonville (24th), and San Diego (12th) and you start to see why the Steelers lead the NFL in defense. The only good offensive teams the Steelers have faced they have lost to.

Two of the Steelers three losses this year came at the hands of very good offensive teams. The NYG (1st) and Philadelphia (6th). The Steelers 3rd loss was to Indianapolis (22nd) but a very good offensive team historically over the past decade.

So in regardes to the Steelers, they ain't the defensive jugernaut that the team and their fans make themselves out to be.

Offensively they have struggled with many of the teams they have beaten this year. They beat Cleveland by 4, Baltimore by 3, Jacksonville by 5, and San Diego by 1. So not very impressive victories to say the least and very pathetic efforts offensively.

By contrast, look at the NFC East.

Offensively, Dallas ranks 8th (and would be much higher if it weren't for the 3 games Romo missed), NYG ranks 1st, Philadelphia ranks 6th, and the sorry Washingtonn Redskins are the exception in their division and rank 28th.

On defense, again the NFC East is a beast. The NYG rank 3rd, Dallas ranks 9th, Philladelphia ranks 7th, and Washington ranks 6th. All very ggod defensive teams. Therefore, Dallas play 6 very strong defensive teams all within their division each year.

There is just no comparision between the teams that Dallas plays in their division, week in...week out, both offensively and defensively, and who the Steelers play within their own division.

The facts are that the Steelers have a very poor offense. They lose to good offensive teams and they have struggled on offense with many of their other opponents.

Defensively the Steelers are a pretty good group but they are not an elite group when you analysis their competition.

All things considered, on a good playing field where offenses can thrive, Dallas beats the Steelers by 21 points. The Steelers only hope is for poor playing field conditions this weekend. Poor field conditions will limit what offenses can do. But even on a poor playing field, Dallas beats the Steelers by 14 points easy.

Prediction...Dallas 24 Pittsburgh 10.

Book it!

All valid points pimptaddy, er, dallas_empire. However, the only #'s that matter:

10, 6 (4) Cleveland

37, 15 (22) Philthy

26/10, 6 (20/4) Washington

22, 10/10 (12) Cincy

35, 21 (14) Giants

That's what was scored on your team scored vs common opponent and what was scored on the Steelers. The same offensive ineptitude you're referencing scored more again your team IN EVERY FREAKIN INSTANCE. You can try and justify any which way you want to, but the #'s don't lie. And after the Steelers b!tchslap your boys this weekend, Giants and Ravens are gonna make a 3-fer.

You can't hide the facts, the Steelers three losses are to 6-5-1 Philthy, 11-1 Giants and 8-4 Indy. Who have your Cowgirls lost to? 11-1 Giants, 7-5 Washington and, um, oh yeah, to the 2-10 Rams. St. Louis hasn't scored more than 19 pts in any game this season except the 34 freakin pts they hung on the Pokes. And playing San Fran and Seattle back to back is pretty much the same as getting Cincy and Cleveland, only easier. You've won 3 in a row, get ready for your typical December where you'll be lucky to make it out at 1-3...and the "1" won't be this weekend...guaranteed.

Steeler Oline is in for a long game. Steelers better hope that Ware is still out. Roethlisberger will be in for some pain if Ware can go. There is just not Ware to worry about. Spencer can also inflict pain. The Steeler defense better be as good as advertised or the Cowboys will blow them out.

We all saw Dallas without Romo. With him we are a contender and without him it got ugly. Thanks for playing. :music_guitarred:

They were 2-1 and beat a playoff contending team. Good thing too...cause they may end up tied with them and they would then have the tie breaker.

But all you have proven is Romo is a lot better than Brad Johnson...which we already knew.

Romo is not the MVP...not even top 5 right now.

Warner

ADP

Brees

Portis

Favre

all ahead of Romo
