GettnHuge 2 Posted February 25, 2009 They should just call this one now at 1 up 17. Tiger
cbfalcon 828 Posted February 25, 2009 2nd hole par 5. Tiger knocks his second to 3 feet. 2 up through 2. -3 through 2 if it were stroke play. Prediction: Tiger's opponent just quits after the 5th hole.
GettnHuge 2 Posted February 25, 2009 Phil 1 up 2 to play... Choke Fatty Choke!!!
GettnHuge 2 Posted February 25, 2009 Fatty choked his drive into the rough and blew his lead! tied up going to
BMoney 0 Posted February 25, 2009 being away sure proved that the current rest dont impress.....if tiger couldnt return, that would kill golf...
GettnHuge 2 Posted February 25, 2009 http://www.pgatour.com/players/00/18/10/sc.../2009/r470.html check it out Fatty was up 4 with 5 to play. On the 18th Cabrera butchered his 1st 2 shots, Fatty was in perfect position to win and couldn't get it done. On to extra holes.
cbfalcon 828 Posted February 25, 2009 http://www.pgatour.com/players/00/18/10/sc.../2009/r470.html check it out Fatty was up 4 with 5 to play. On the 18th Cabrera butchered his 1st 2 shots, Fatty was in perfect position to win and couldn't get it done. On to extra holes. In fairness, Cabrera birdied 15, 16, and 17. Not the "classic Nippleson choke job".
cbfalcon 828 Posted February 25, 2009 Mickelson wins on the 19th hole! Kim wins 7 and 5! Villegas wins 7 and 6! These 2 guys are the ones I think can give Tiger a run for his money....maybe....kinda

Sho Nuff 720 Posted February 26, 2009 Boring is tennis. Though, the first rounds of these things...outside of seeing how Tiger would do, is boring. The weekend is much better when you get some better matchups.
listen2me 23 1,976 Posted February 26, 2009 Boring is tennis.Though, the first rounds of these things...outside of seeing how Tiger would do, is boring. The weekend is much better when you get some better matchups. Are the 1st couple rounds of a tennis tourney that isn't a major even talked about? Hell non slam tourneys aren't even talked about. Didn't Roddick win won lately? Was Fed even playing? Again, just place Fed and Nadal in the finals and skip the tourney.

Sho Nuff 720 Posted February 26, 2009 Yea. That was good. I also liked the one of Tiger getting ready while whistling Eye of the Tiger. Just a PGA welcome back commercial or something. And the greatest thing...Haney's show with Barkley is going to be great.
GettnHuge 2 Posted February 26, 2009 barkley on letterman yrs ago: I had just teed off with Tiger and we were going up the fairway and he asked me if I saw where they were building the new WalMart. I said no. He said between your ball and mine.

The weekend is much better when you get some better matchups. well..it was tough to watch....but at least they are televising golf now that tiger is back... too bad it just showed that there is no real talent out there besides tiger....brendan was quite the stiff...even tiger seemed annoyed that he was wasting his time with him.. Of course I am comparing majors to slams and lesser touneys to lesser tourneys. And that is saying something when America is action driven now. The average guy that does not play either in America is watching golf, a slow watching sport rather than tennis, a moving faster paced sport.
Sho Nuff 720 Posted February 26, 2009 He was a 16th seed. Was he supposed to not be a stiff? I don't get it? Exactly...like the guys Federer plays in the first rounds are worth anything...
GettnHuge 2 Posted February 26, 2009 He was a 16th seed. Was he supposed to not be a stiff? I don't get it? Well he and Tim Clark are about to tee off. Clark is a local there so I'm gonna call this one conservatively. Tiger 4 and 3.
listen2me 23 1,976 Posted February 26, 2009 Another point on not having any competition for Tiger. There is parity in golf. Tiger could lose today to Clark (a 8 or 9 seed...) He has lost in the 2nd round before I believe. Sergio already got bounced. Does that mean he flat out sucks? No, because Tiger could lose in the 2n round too... I agree no one matches Tiger or close to him. But there is much more parity in a golf tourney than there is in a tennis tourney. Think NBA vs NFL. NBA it is the same teams each year. Grab your superstar and ride him deep into the playoffs each year. NFL there are foundations or 3 year or 4 year runs, but usually always different teams in the SB than the year before. Because of this parity it is hard for the 2 best golfers to meet each Sunday in the final pairing. If you play a lot of golf you will understand the nature of it. I am a 10 handicap, I play with a guy that is a 14. That doesn't seem like much, but it is 4 shots. But any given day he will beat me. He will shoot a 81 and I will shoot a 83...or whatever... Happens a lot. That is how golf is. Now add in 100 players and you have a lot of guys having good days, a lot bad. Some heat up at the end, some fall in the end. It is hard to produce Nadal-Fed in every golf tourny, its just not going to happen. It isn't tennis.

The average guy that does not play either in America is watching golf, a slow watching sport rather than tennis, a moving faster paced sport. why? because more and more americans are losing jobs and want an afternoon nap? i never said first round tennis matches were all exciting....they can be boring also.... much like this has been....tiger will be there every sunday at the end...who are you trying to kid?... i admitted that tennis can be boring early on..i dont know why golf fans cant do the same... THey still care more than they do about tennis. That was my only point I guess.

BMoney 0 Posted February 26, 2009 I meant more people across the U.S. will watch a Buick without Tiger than watch a non slam with Federer. considering that the Buick plunged 55% and had its lowest ratings since 99...a 2.1....im going to have to respectfully disagree here... us? perhaps golf was ahead..but blown away on a worldwide level....
