Are you kidding me? As if a steak dinner is really a big deal? I'm sure he would love to play with Adrian Peterson, I doubt that was BS. But ultimately a player has to choose what is the best deal, all things considered (and money is always the biggest consideration).

DexterMorgan 5 Posted March 3, 2009 He would have been a luxury not a necessity. Would have been nice to get him but we have other things that need to be taken care of. like oh i don't QUARTERBACK. i know sometimes the position can be forgotten because it is so unimportant. We need to offer our 1st, 3rd, and next years 2nd for cutler (prolly wouldn't even get it done). Offer Warner 2 Year 30/Mil and draft Freeman, let him sit for 2 years and learn. or, last resort pick up Garcia and draft Freeman.
IGotWorms 4,058 Posted March 3, 2009 TJ probably realized that even though Minny has a lot of positives right now, their owner doesn't really know what he is doing, their coach is a joke, and their QB should be playing in the CFL (I'm talking about TJack but the same could be said for RosenFAILS). As a WR, I don't think I would be all that interested in getting myself involved in that situation either.

Their owner has shown that he wants to win and is willing to get guys there that he thinks will help accomplish that. Agree with everything else though. Then why isn't he willing to do what it takes to get a decent QB? He could've traded for Cassel if he was willing to take on that $14 million contract (say what you want about Cassel and the system, he would've been head and shoulders above TJack and Sage). He could probably have Warner tonight if he was willing to pay him. Yet instead they appear content to trot out yet another retread at the position. It doesn't add up. I wouldn't have wanted to give up more than a first for Cassel which is what it was going to take (from anyone other than KC). From what i have been reading they are actively pursuing Cutler (although i think chances are slim to none that it goes through). I completely agree on warner, as you can see from my post about 3 above this. As a Vikings fan there are plenty of things to be upset about but Zigy is not one of them. I just have to figure what is holding them back is a reluctance to shell out big money. I know that isn't really consistent with some moves they have made (like paying big-time for Hutchinson), but otherwise how do you explain their failure to sign a guy like Warner or otherwise get SOMEBODY worth their salt? They have had opportunities and have passed on them. I suppose its possible that the reluctance is due to something else, like not wanting to tie up too much cap room in the QB position, but then they are just focking stupid instead of cheap. I'm not trying to be a d!ck -- lived in Minnesota for four years, and even though they were never my favorite team, I did root for them during that time. So I feel like I've got a bit of a right to call them out.

We probably didn't want to overpay for another WR knowing that our QB situation is so shaky.

So I feel like I've got a bit of a right to call them out. Warner is way too old to command 14 or 15 million dollars per year... Remember Warner as a NYG, I do he stunk... Let the Cardinals pay that kind of dough for a guy who might play only 1-2 more years... He's too old, and way overrated IMO... MB ps. I think Rosenfels will surprise people next year, and play well in this system, with this o-line and Minny's top notch running attack... You can't really compare what he did in Houston vs what he will do in Minny... But soon enough, we shall find out...
Joey Gladstone 33 Posted March 4, 2009 Seattle doesn't get retardedly cold, it's closer to his home base in LA, and they were willing to pay more. If Minny was really serious about getting him, maybe they should have shown some balls and dealt for Cassel. If Hasselbeck is healthy he's far better then Sagevarious Rosenjackotte. I'd trade Housh and Burleson to get Hutch back in a second.
Mad Brad 0 Posted March 4, 2009 I'd trade Housh and Burleson to get Hutch back in a second. I hear that... I think losing Hutch set the hawks way back, and is prolly the main reason why old walrus face is out of a job now... On the flip side he has made "our" o-line absolutely top notch, and one of the main reasons Adrian looks like the beast that he is... MB
