JScott 20 Posted June 3, 2009 But it looks like Falco headed out.
Jetdoc 20 Posted June 3, 2009 This is just a cruel joke right.... what is it with guys going otc and disappearing while everyone else is present They've got to go check their "secret fantasy listings", so they have to go off the site for a bit. E-mail sent to Falco, by the way...
Fumbleweed 547 Posted June 3, 2009 MJD over Sjax for sure, but I feel your players stack up pretty good after that. I like Bomb's start too. Both of your teams have the pieces in place, and they should look real good now. It's the next picks where things will start to even out as Bomb alluded to. I felt Barber hurt his standing in Dallas last year, and he will be part of a bigger RBBC then ever. Felix didn't catch many passes last year but he didn't play much either. Choice might likely be the best choice for 1st and 2nd downs, with the other two changing the pace. It won't happen unless barber struggles again, but he did succeed at it when given the oppurtunity. Valid points about the two teams. I think I just like MJD over SJax enough, like you said, that it tips the scales a bit for me. I would take Brees and Grant over Manning and Barber if given the chance. But, SJax was not a pick I was excited about making. We'll see what Round Four brings... Clash of the Titans 1 Posted June 3, 2009 marshall is good value here...regardless of the legal woes and his two qbs...if he can play all 16 games i think he will finish in the top 10.........he's had 100 catches + the last two years and this team will be behind all year....i just don't trust him to stay out of trouble and avoid a suspension for the latest incident
Da Bomb 0 Posted June 3, 2009 im very intrigued to see jason witten go that high. i actually really really strongly considered him at 3.3, and the fact is that in a real draft, i maybe wouldve gone ahead and taken him there. i think he is in for an absolutely MONSTER season. i believe he'll set career highs across the board, with 1200+ yards as the main go-to dallas receiver. the only thing that held me back from snagging him so high (where ___ and ___ have gone in the past as THE stud te) is that he doesnt quite have the TD production that past superstud TEs have had. his career high right now is just 7, about half of what the aforementioned two guys put up at their very best. i still think witten is far and away the #1 fantasy TE and he'll have some very big games this year... but without the stud TD numbers, and with no ppr, i couldnt convince myself to take him quite so high. wouldnt have hesitated had he lasted to 4.10, but knew he wouldnt. I agree. I might could have spent a 4 on him but couldn't do the 3. In a TE required league like this it will be awful nice having your points in the bank. It's kinda like the 3 QB's that are gone. They are money!!! The question is "Are they enough money to separate themselves from the others consistently?"
Da Bomb 0 Posted June 3, 2009 i absolutely love kevin smith in the 3rd round. i dont think we all realize what a successful season he had last year after the midway point. first of all, lets all be reminded that he: a) played for an 0-16 football squad ran behind one of the worst offensive lines in memory c) was the lead runner for a team who barely committed to the run and, frankly, couldnt most games despite all that, kevin smith had 600 rushing yards and 4 TDs in the second half of the season after under 300 yards the first half. he had a very solid YPC over that span as well. putting that out over a whole season gives you 1200 and 8 TDs, not bad at all for a 3rd round runner. not to mention that you now add in a head coach in jim schwartz (plus a rookie qb) that should spell a sure focus on the running game. i dont think he has a monster upside yet on that team, and hes only so talented, but he will get plenty of opportunities and be a very dependable rb2 type this year imo. very nice snag in the latter 3rd round. No TO there and he is the #1 WR there in my opinion. I'm surprised he fell that far now that TE is required. Also surprised to see QBs go so early, especially in this scoring system. Not QB friendly at all, no way would I take one in the first 3-4 rounds in this system, plenty to go around. Took Witten cause rather have elite talent at TE than the 18th best RB or a #2 WR with questions.

Would rather have elite talent at QB than the 13th best RB or my 2nd WR. Not sure how you can apply this logic to Witten then disregard it for a QB pick. Sure QB production in this system is less relative to RBs and WR/TEs, but that's not the comparison. It's QB to QB and TE to TE. So why wouldn't the same logic apply regardless of position. ETA: If we had a flex option that might be a little different, but we don't here.

JScott 20 Posted June 3, 2009 Checkmate JScott Isn't it funny how we can all come up with logical reasons to take or disregard a player but when it comes down to it our gutt tells us when to apply this logic and when to ignore it....lol. Like you not liking QBs early, me not liking 'cuffs, RC loving RBs early and often, Fumble ... well you get the picture. :highfive:
