remote controller 143 Posted June 3, 2009 Not "too soon", but I have 2 simple words: Denver. Clusterfock. I've never been a huge fan of taking Denver RBs, and early picks nearly never work out. Yes, I know, new coach, the Rat is out of Denver, but I still don't see it being worth the risk. This new anal probe of a coach needs to hang his hat on something. My guess is it will be the rook. robb 81 Posted June 3, 2009 Sorry V4E: Report: Westbrook is out until regular season at the earliest Comcast Sportsnet in Philadelphia reports that Brian Westbrook has a high ankle sprain and will be sidelined until Week 1, at the earliest. The report adds that Westbrook may need ankle clean-out surgery, which could cost him even more time. Westbrook had problems with the same ankle last year. He also needed arthroscopic knee surgery this winter and turns 30 before Week 1, making him a serious candidate for breakdown. Assuming it hasn't already happened. Westbrook averaged just 2.9 yards per carry in the Eagles' last six games. Jun. 3 - 5:43 pm et
Fumbleweed 547 Posted June 3, 2009 I had Fumble pegged to grab him even though he had two backs in the fold. he never worries about wideouts and still pulls a team together in the end. I thought about it. But, I still have a number of RBs left that I would be happy with. RBs aren't going as fast and I think I can nab another that I really like in the next two rounds. Da Bomb 0 Posted June 4, 2009 absolutely love the marshawn and knowshon picks. in fact, under the right draft scenario, i could see entering a league with the two of those guys as my starters if i had good enough qb/wr ahead of them. if id taken steve smith at 2.10 and needed a rb at 3.3, it would have been between those two for me, even knowing it was pretty early ADP-wise. i liked grant and k smith too, but i think i wouldve gone with one of those two first. whats the deal with marshawn and all his legal crap? i honestly dont know. what i do know is he put up 1300/9 last year in 15 games and now has a guy named terrell owens stretching the field and taking 2 guys away from covering the box to stop the run most plays, and an improved OL as well. last year this guy snuck into the 1st round, and now no one seems to want anything to do with him. i cant say i understand, unless we already know hes suspended or something. love knowshon's upside. i think hes going to do a little bit of everything and put up similar numbers to what chris johnson did last year, maybe better. the denver rb problem is a thing of the past, gone with shanny. great pickup. i have 2 RBs, and i absolutely was going to take either of those two here if they had fallen. let me look now and see what else we've got there... Da Bomb 0 Posted June 4, 2009 85 averaged 90+ catches, 1400 yards, 9 TDs over the five seasons before last. i, like everyone else on the planet, have no idea what was going on with the guy last year. i do know that hes going to be on a lot of my teams this year. hes still one of the most talented WRs on the planet and in the 4th or 5th round, if he comes even close to his past production, he is a slam dunk pick. said the same thing about randy moss two years ago. everyone has a bad year, especially primadonna WRs. i like a bounce back from a star. if he comes even close, a start of MJD/MB3/peyton/85 is going to be pretty tough to beat most weeks. remote controller 143 Posted June 4, 2009 There was one other back that I considered here. I had him figured at 1100 combined and 10 at the most. Anyway I look at this I see McFadden at 1200 yards and 9, and he has young legs. They kept their big line and signed Lorenzo Neal to lead block. Talk is that McFadden is looking good and lining up all over the formation, including at Wildcat. I am not a fan of what Davis is doing in Oakland but I do feel he will look for a return on his investment, and this is by far their best weapon. He will be my #2 rb. 800 yards and 4 td's, in 13 games, in a sorry rookie season, with a bum toe. Turn it around DMac!!

Da Bomb 0 Posted June 4, 2009 dmac is a great upside pick at this point with the addition of neal. i love the idea of taking him here as a 2nd/3rd RB type with another steadier player for a combo. if i liked the WRs better to take two at the 2/3 turn, i definitely would have had him high on my radar. Fumbleweed 547 Posted June 4, 2009 nah, being serious. i havent been paying any attention to football for the last many months. hes officially out for the first 3 games of the year? Yes. Three-game suspension to start the season. If that hadn't been the case, he'd likely be in the Slaton/Chris Johnson/Jacobs/Portis tier. The Barber/Ronnie Brown tier at worst. Da Bomb 0 Posted June 4, 2009 thats a beautiful thing. nothing like getting a borderline 1st rounder in the 4th round. so he misses 3 games. i can find a replacement for the first three weeks. there are always those RBs that are old and start the season decently. i drafted steve smith in every league a round later than he shouldve gone too, and that worked just fine. looks like he's a guy i'll be targetting then.
