As an animal lover I will never want to see Vick succeed. I do not care that he paid his debts I just know he would still be fighting and killing dogs today if he did not get caught. Don't get me wrong, he deserves another chance, but I will always hope he fails.

 

As a die-hard Steelers I am glad that he did not end up in PIT. They were one of the teams being talked about. If Ben goes down I would rather see PIT lose the next 10 Superbowls than win them with Vick.

But, of all the fans of all the teams in football, when it comes to blasting the Eagles for this move the Cowboys just have no leg to stand on.Yeah, they signed a guy who did a very bad thing, lost millions and two years of his life in the process, and has now served his time and wants to move on. But compare that to the list of drug dealers, wife beaters and child molesters the Cowboys have signed over the years and I think Vick sounds like a pretty safe, low-risk investment.

 

At least, unlike so many Cowboys, he's not a baby-feeler.

Not saying that "49ers suck" is right on this one but I expect he is just exacting a little payback for all the ribbing the Cowboys have gotten over signing problem players.If the Cowboys had signed Vick there would be a 14-page Cowboy hate thread on here chock-full of nonsense. Having said that, I like the signing by the Eagles.I think Vick might still be a solid player and I am very happy that a team gave him a second chance.What he did was terrible but everybody deserves that second chance and the Eagles and Tony Dungy should be aplauded for giving him that chance .

But I think the Cowboys incredibly long rap sheet is pretty unusual, even for the NFL. And I don't think every other team has a player who molests, steals, or gets caught dealing coke every 3-5 years. The Cowboys have a long history of having low character players on their team.

 

As an Eagle fan I'm really lukewarm on Vick. At best, the Eagles have a guy who can give them about 5 quality snaps per game in a Wildcat offense. Is that really worth dealing with the negative attention? Probably not but I'm a fan, so I'm prepared to be proven wrong.

I agree with you. I think he has gone through so much that the players almost have remorse for him and not the action any more. Sure if he only served 3 weeks in jail it might be different. But from what I have read and seen the players are pulling for him.

 

Now don't get me wrong, I think his actions were terrible. But the league has forgotten about that now, and moved on to the player.

 

I mean Goddell said it himself, that he hopes Vick is an example of a player that can turn this around. So he goes from the bad boy poster child image on the NFL, to the complete 180 charity case.

Only gets to keep 750k? there are people who went to Harvard who dont get that much. FYI..........the median income is just under 30k a year. So half of americans make less than 30k. Most of those are not felons. This is a fairness issue. How can the nfl and society tell people to obey rules to get ahead and then support vick making as you say 750k?
