TredH20 0 Posted August 31, 2009 Drafted the other night - 4th pick in a 12 team standard scoring except QB TDs = 6 pts. We start QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, WR/RB, TE, K, D/ST. The thing that is really worrying me is the clear lack of a a 3rd starting RB. This is the first year the league has had 12 teams - (up from 10 teams). So the draft pool was much more diluted...feel like I should have made a play for another RB earlier - perhaps in round 6...how does this look? Rnd 1. Turner (guy at 2 picked MoJo, guy at 3 picked Brady - completely shocked me - so I had to go for Turner...I was fully expecting Forte here...) Rnd 2. Ronnie Brown Rnd 3. Steve Smith Rnd 4. TJ Houshmandzadeh Rnd 5. Matt Schaub (little nervous on this one, injuries concern me...) Rnd 6. DeSean Jackson Rnd 7. Chris Cooley Rnd 8. I waited a little long I think, but with my RB depth I hope to trade for a better TE if he falls flat. I do like the rookie QB/TE school of thought though. swest 0 Posted September 1, 2009 It's funny how you see teams through rose-colored glasses. I wasn't happy with my draft position or my keepers, but here is my team in a 12 team - PPR, IDP League. Scoring is 6 PT per TD, 1 per 10 Rushing/Receiving (bonus for 100+ yards), and 1 for 25 for passing. IDP is pretty standard with 1 pt per tackle, 3 pts for Forced Fumble, 3 points per sack, and 2 pts for Fumble Recovery. I am planning to make some trades and wonder what suggestions I should consider. QB - Palmer, Pennington RB - Marion Barber, Larry Johnson, Ray Rice, Leon Washington, Ahmad Bradshaw, Choice WR - Steve Smith, Wes Welker, Brandon Marshall (got him in 7th), and Nate Burleson - I like him this year and he was cheap TE - Zack Miller, Bo Scaife K - Gostkowski DE - Mario Williams, John Abraham LB - Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher, and Adalius Thomas DB - Yeremiah Bell, Leodis McKelvin (we get return yardage 1 pt per 25 yards) We play 5 IDP per week, atleast one from each position. So I will typically play 1 DE, 3 LB, and 1 DB. I am ok with QB and WR for now but not thrilled with RB, TE, and LB. What are you thoughts? I did try to make RB happen with some PPR oriented picks of Ray Rice, Bradshaw and Washington. Thanks!

I am liking what I see with Ray Rice this year and have him on my team. You got him 2-3 rounds later than I did..so good job! I love Megatron but not too thrilled after that for WR. You have some risks plays with Rice, Gonzales, McFadden. Still you have some good upside but would love to see a proven player in one of those positions. itsbigmoni 1 Posted September 1, 2009 I have two teams 12 teamer, standard scoring, non ppr. Start 1 qb, 2rb, 2wr, 1 flex, te, def, k, 6 bench spots. Drafted 5th. I care more about this league. QB - Palmer, Campbell RB - Deangelo Williams, Ryan Grant, Addai, Rice WR - Randy Moss, Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes, Dominik Hixon, Donnie Avery TE - Kellen winslow, Dustin Keller K - Forgot Def - Packers I'll probably get a new defense and backup QB. Might take a flyer on Bulger who i think has more potential than campbell. Other team is in a 10 team league, standard scoring, .5ppr, start 1qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, te, def, k, 5 bench spots. This one we were drinking quite a bit so a lot of players were forgotten about. Reggie bush slipped all the way to the 5th round, and when he finally got picked, we all kicked ourselves. Picked 4th QB - Palmer (backup to come soon) RB - Deangelo Williams, Ryan Grant, Addai, Ray Rice, Knowshon WR - Moss, Reggie Wayne, santonio holmes, Chambers, Davone Bess TE - Dustin Keller K - Jeff Reed D - Dallas For a start 2 rb league, i have too many rb's, but the spots i got them, they had just too much value. I know i'm weak at WR for a start 3 league, so i'm gonna package a rb and some other pieces, for a WR and a good back up qb. Its funny how similar i drafted both of my teams. I really wanted hixon and avery in my 2nd league but both were picked 2 spots ahead of me.
itsbigmoni 1 Posted September 1, 2009 12 team redraft / no ppr / 4th pick QB: Donovan (6), Hasselbeck (9) RB: Turner (1), P. Thomas (3), R. Rice (5), Felix Jones (8), J. Davis (14), Coffee (15) WR: A. Johnson (2), V. Jackson (4), R. Williams (7), D. Avery (10), S. Smith (13) TE: J. Shockey (12) Def: Chargers (11) K: Kasay (16) We start 2 rb, 2 wr, and 1 rb/wr flex. I think I should have selected another RB in the 4th round so I could have more depth for the flex position in non-ppr. Too many people talking about taking WR's early this year! You can't be stacked at every position. The only way we can solidify a certain position is by having one of our flyers/sleepers panning out. I'm not a big fan of P. Thomas, but if he's as good as the majority of people think, then you have great RB depth, with one solid bench guy(felix jones), and two flyers. I think jones will end up being the highest point getter in dallas' backfield. The man is just too electric to keep off the field. Davis has more potential than coffee. I don't see coffee getting many carries unless gore is hurt. Your WR are solid, but nothing special as it stands right now. I think Roy Williams will out perform Jackson, but either way, you got 3 solid WR's, and a sleeper in avery (i think avery will get 7-8 tds, 800 yards). I can't get a read on Smith. Luckily, hixon, manningham, and nicks are all on the other side. I'm sure they could switch sides being they're so young, but it seems like the giants are giving smith every chance. I think even though white is in the best shape of his life, johnson takes on more of a workload. I think grant will have a big year, but its gonna be a guessing game with who to start out of rice, white, and hightower, with maybe even bradshaw. Housh i'm iffy on. I think he doesn't put up the numbers from last year. Steve smith is obviously a great pickup. Big fan of ocho cinco and carlson. Well depending on where you got ocho cinco, but he's been going kinda late but i think the bengals offense rebounds and they put up solid numbers. I think you WR's are your strongest position as far as starters go. Carlson should become a household name this year. Morgan is a solid guy to take a flyer on. Ahmad bradshaw doesn't get any tds, but with ward gone, he could get a few more, although i don't see him getting any goal line carries. If jacobs misses time though, bradshaw will be huge. Again, barely missed my target TEs: Zach Miller and Owen Daniels by half a round 3. I picked 2 detroit players in the first 3 rounds! YIKES 1. I picked up braylon in one of my leagues as well. He's not the same guy from 07, but he's still talented and the number one option on a team who's oline should be better this year. The biggest thing with him is who else is going to be a threat besides braylon? 2. I'm a huge fan of keller and got him in both of my leagues. With a rookie qb, i think he'll rely on his safety valves a lil more than the avg qb and keller is great when it comes to YAC. Its risky, but i think he's a top 10 performer. My two under the radar te's this year are keller and carlson. 3. The lions thing is a lil worrisome. But k. smith in the 3rd round in a 14 teamer is solid value. Hard to pass up on that kind of value. Megatron is gonna be a beast and smith will be at the very least serviceable. You'll get killed a few weeks when the lions get worked 24-3 or something, but the lions seem to be improving and culpepper is showing signs of life so i think you'll be ok. As far as the rest of your team, i love the dmac pick. I can't believe he was still available. The raiders are going to be a running team. They're bringing russel along slowly and are using the run to set up the play action so they can take advantage of russels strengths. Dmac has looked great this pre-season. The biggest problem with him is, it seems like every time he breaks off a big run, it gets called back because of a holding call or something stupid. But the dude is fast, quick, and powerful. Ray Rice is a great pickup as well. He's going to be solid. I don't like your lack of WR depth, but i guess thats what happens in a 14 team league. Hopefully one of your flyers pans out. I would recommend trading one of your RB's for a WR. It doesn't even have to be right way as you can use th time to let Ray Rice and Dmacs value go up. Gonzales shouldn't be higher than your 3rd option and sweed is a flyer at best, but probably not even that much. You wasted picks taking 2 kickers and 2 defenses. Drop 1 kicker and 1 defense and pick up some WR's. Try to get someone like Davone bess, steve smith (giants), even someone like crayton. While you're at it, drop sweed as well unless this is a keeper league.
itsbigmoni 1 Posted September 1, 2009 redraft ,10 team ,PPR league QB: Rivers, Schaub RB: S. Jax, LT, Portis, F. Jones WR: TO, Coles, Royal, Walter TE: Gates, Boss DEF, Minn, Indy K Folk, Reed Feeling good at QB, good at TE, not so good at WR, If my RB's can stay healthy should do OK Why do you need two kickers? Take a flyer on some player, and if he pans out great, if not, drop him during your kickers bye week, then after that week drop the replacement kicker and go after another flyer. I'm generally against two defenses as we. I rather just get a replacement D on the week they have a bye. Other than that, awesome RB. Jones will get the most touches out of the three headed monster in dallas. Well, if the cowboys have enough leads, barber will get the close out carries, but jones will get his. he's too good to be kept off of the field. You're WR's should be solid. I think royal will out perform coles, especially if the marshall situation doesn't get resolved. I think boss is a nice player and as a backup for you, he'll perform better than some other teams starters. Now that plaxico is gone, i think boss will pick up where he left off at the end of the season and have a solid year. I'd say you're weakest area is WR. I'd drop at least a kicker and pick up a flyer. Or, during the season, trade shaub or one of your RB's to someone hurtin for qb/rb depth.
itsbigmoni 1 Posted September 1, 2009 10 team league got to keep 1. I picked in the nineth spot and kept Frank Gore. Serpentine draft. 1 Gore 2 LT - glad he fell to me at 2.2 3 Greg Jennings 4 Roddy White 5 Joseph Addai 6 David Garrard 7 Santonio Holmes 8 Jay Cutler 9 Titans Defense 10 Lawrence Tynes 11 Ahmad Bradshaw 12 Devin Hester 13 Ricky Williams 14 Fred Taylor 15 Darius Heyward Bey Not too bad I think, but what do I know? There are only 3 picks i don't like. Garrad, Titans D, and Tynes. I'm totally against taking kickers with anything but the last pick. What insight do you have to make you think tynes will be that much better than a kicker you could've gotten in the 14th/15th? I'm not a fan of garrad at all, especially not in the 6th. They have an aging Torry holt and a decent TE but not much else. It bodes well for mjd with a lot of dump offs and a focus on the run game, but i don't think garrad will put up stats. The other pick i don't like is titans defense. That one isn't that bad imo, but i just think its too early for a defense. As far as the rest of the draft, its great. Your overall team is solid all around. Holmes should step up this year. Hopefully he builds off of his SB performance and takes the torch as the steelers number one option. Hester is a good flyer as he's their only WR and cutler can throw the deep ball with the best of em. You have solid depth all around. I don't see a te though. No te in your league? Overall, i'd give you a 9/10.
itsbigmoni 1 Posted September 1, 2009 12 Team, .5 PPR, 1QB 2RB 3WR 1TE 1K 1D, 15 rounds. Pick #12. Drafted Sat. August 29th. 1. (12) Frank Gore RB 2. (13) Randy Moss WR 3. (36) Kevin Smith RB (anyone that has Pierre or Grant falling to 4th -- how?) 4. (37) Aaron Rodgers QB (none of the RBs or WRs I preferred fell) 5. (60) DeSean Jackson WR 6. (61) Jerricho Cotchery WR (#11 drafter thought he would get him at pick #62) 7. (84) Ray Rice RB (amost took him at 61. Figured he would fall to me at 84 -- whew!) 8. (85) Domenik Hixon WR 9. (108) Derrick Mason WR 10. (109) Matt Hasselbeck QB 11. (132) Felix Jones RB (surprised he was still there) 12. (133) LeSean McCoy RB (flyer) 13. (156) Brent Celek TE 14. (157) Tampa Bay DEF 15. (180) Lawrence Tynes K Rodgers, Hasselbeck Gore, K. Smith, Rice, F. Jones, L. McCoy Moss, DeSean Jackson, Cotchery, Hixon, Mason Celek Tynes Tampa Bay Probably the best team i've commented. The only pick that puzzles me is celek. I don't even know who that is. But judging from your draft, i'm not gonna second guess that pick. Awesome team all around. I'd be shocked if you don't go into the playoffs with a top 3 seed.
BigD226 0 Posted September 1, 2009 Drafted #1 in a 12-team league, standard scoring, 1 keeper (Felix Jones). QB, RB, RB, RB/WR, WR, WR, WR/TE, K, DST QB - Favre RB - All Day RB - Grant RB/WR - LJ WR - Colston WR - Holmes WR/TE - Gonzalez (IND) K - Carney DST - Dallas Bench: T. Edwards, Felix, Donald Brown, Chester, Avery, Carlson, Celek Not in love with my QB options (Flacco went right before my pick in round 9) but I think the rest of the team is solid/deep enough to make up for it. socrilles 0 Posted September 1, 2009 #6 in 10 team league non PPR, serpentine style really hated my position. QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, K, DST QB - Cutler (8), Bench Garrard (11), Manning (12) RB - DeAngelo Williams (1) RB - Brandon Jacobs (2) Bench Pierre Thomas (4), Edgerrin (13) WR - Roddy White (3) WR - Vincent Jackson (5) WR - Anthony Gonalez (6), Bench Berrian (7), Kevin Walter (9) TE - John Carlson (10) K - Keading (15) DST - Pats (14) Quarterbacks went early (5 picked before I went in round 4), receivers went early (13 picked before I went in round 4), and surprisingly defenses went pretty early (4 picked in round 8 WTF?) Glad Cutler looked good against Denver. not happy with my WRs but hopefully Gonalez and Berrian really pick it up this year (seems like a lot of potential), had to pick Pierre as he was the best talent available at the time but probably should've picked up antonio gates instead or another WR. Hoping to trade Pierre eventually with one of my WR3's for a better WR.
worm 34 Posted September 1, 2009 Drafted last Saturday. #8 out of 10 teams, 0.5 PPR, 6 pts all TD's QB, RB, RB, RB/WR, WR, WR, WR, TE, D/ST, K QB - McNabb (6), Garrard (12), Trent Edwards (16) RB - SJax (1), Tomlinson (2), R. Grant (5), Donald Brown (10), Sproles (11), Norwood (14) WR - Bowe (3), Houshmandzadeh (4), Cotchery (8), Domenik Hixon (9), Chris Henry (13), Davonne Bess (15), Stroughter (18, ceremonial homer pick) TE - Greg Olsen (7) D/ST - Packers (17) K - Didn't draft one, will pick one up off waivers I really hoped one of the last upper-tier WR's would fall to me in the 3rd, but no luck. Thinking of trading for a better #1 WR. I dropped Stroughter and picked up Crayton off waivers.

You sacrificed your qb's a bit, but that allowed you to get solid starters, a few bench guys who will be able to step in on bye weeks, and some good flyers. A lot of your hope rests on Palmer, but i took the same risk in two of my leagues. The only thing i don't get is giong with forte with the number one overall, especially in a non-ppr. I would've gone adp, but i guess you have yoru reasons for that. I think ocho cinco will surprise a lot of people this year and should put up big numbers. My only worry with him is henry stealing goal line fades/td's.

mdbomb 5 Posted September 1, 2009 14 Team redraft. I had pick 11.... QB: A. Rodgers RB: Slayton, McFadden, J.Jones, F.Jackson, L.Maroney, K.Jones WR: Wayne, D.Jackson, B.Edwards, S.Breaston, D.Bess, D.Butler TE: J.Carlson D: Jets K: Tynes I think. Depth thin at RB, but by the time it got back to me in the 3rd round RB's were pretty dry. Any thoughts?
