who has watch THE LEAGUE?

Recommended Posts

i keep missing the show on thursdays but you can watch reruns of the show on HULU. If you have not seen the show it is hilarious. It has some bad language so if you watch it at work be careful.

Thoughts and opinions on the show are welcome...

Q & A - Mike Davis

i only watched the first episode "the draft" and i thought it was funny as hell. They dont have episode 2 on HULU yet but i heard it was good also. I watched it today at work..ssssshhhh and had to turn the volume down a little cause of some of the language but that helped make it funny

"Hey there, my name is Taco"

"TACO ... we've been friends for 15 years!"

"I've got the number one pick ... TIM BRADY!!!"

Yeah, they are off to a good start ... show could be the next "Entourage".

You would of thought after the solid Fantasy Football commercials with TJ Who'sMazilla that a sitcome would of followed ...

guess it's never too late.

Episode 2 "Bounce Test" was great. The Jew dude, Ruxin? lost ADP and Peyton in consecutive weeks to blackmail and a shady lawyer deal. I think this will be an ongoing thing. Was nice to see the hot chick from" My Name Is Earl" this week. Pretty entertaining overall, love how dirty it is.

I was disappointed. Most of the fantasy stuff was pretty lame. 8 person league? Trading Holt and Fred Taylor for Manning?? I know its a purposeful exageration, but noone alive thinks Keyshawn Johnson is still playing!! They should have a guy that goes way over the top with his sleeper picks. Like maybe the guy who posted the big James Davis thread at the beginning of this season.

It's pretty obvious that the writers aren't big into fantasy football and just did little enough research to make it somewhat believable.

Plus the show goes too far over the top with the toilet humor. I like toilet humor, but it has to be measured in the correct dosage, or it becomes stupid.

I'll give it a couple more episodes to see if they can improve.

Dude, I know it seems unrealistic but there are players out there who just dont know. About 8 years ago my annual league had a couple guys take a year off so we had to scramble and find replacements. Well, one of the guys, Paco, seemed to be just a little different but hey he was cool and seemed to have football knowledge so who cares right.

Alright draft day comes around, everybody is stoked and we all meet up at the office after hours to have our draft.Plenty of food, drinks, the works. Draft starts and Round 1 is going along as expected, big name, then big name, then big name, then Phil Simms........ "Paco, what the hell. Phil Simms has'nt played in half a damn age, what are you doing?" He honestly did not know and safe to say he had a terrible season 3-9 and did'nt come back.

It happens bro, it happens.

This is just so sad, you really need to get out more. Try to think of life outside FF and this board. Are you really going to complain about a show loosely based on FF because draft picks aren't factually accurate or the league size is too small for you to consider cool?

If you are unhappy because of the toilet humor that is a legit complaint and if that stuff bothers you just don't watch. I will also warn you off of watching "It's always sunny in Philly" that is on right before the League. That has taken toilet humor to an art form.

Nadine Velasquez is smokin' hot! :first:

However, the show is missing something. There's been 2 or 3 scenes in each episode that are side-splittingly funny, but it just doesn't carry thru for 30 minutes.

Taco's birthday song for the 9 year old girl in the first episode was one the funniest things I've ever seen on TV.

I forgot about that song. It was focking hilarious. I liked Vaginal Hubris too. Taco is the best character on that show. I look forward to his spinoff.

Yeah, you have to understand that we take FF a lot more seriously than we should. When you're in leagues with friends, for most of the guys, an FF league is pretty much a reason to get together and goof around, and the outcome isn't that important. You have to watch the show from that perspective.

I have not watched it yet and will give it a shot but im not expecting much. Seriously reminds me of when the Geico Cavemen were given their own show. Its just a quick play on the popularity of FF.

My main concern is how much can they really do? How many jokes can they really have? I would assume after a while they will run out of whacky reasons a player was traded, etc....

Whoever said it could be the next Entourage should be shot btw

I just looked it up b/c I thought one of the guys in The League reminded me on the Geico Caveman from that show too. Character Ruxin was in the Cavemen show and in this show. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1802209/

You guys realize this show is more about that lead guy that is divorcing that blond chick then about fantasy football. All they did was take a regular sitcom and add some FF stuff and BAM!@#!@ Show about fantasy football.

I found the Birthday song on youtube. Be a little careful at work unless they don't mind people singing about getting head.

if this is true then i could see it being good.

but from all the ads I have seen, its all FF related jokes and I would imagine there is only so long that can last.

That is the way they pump it up but there is very little about FF. It is more about a bunch of 30 somethings. It is really funny and the little FF they throw it is interesting.
