RLLD 4,215 Posted June 15, 2010 3.01 - WR Greg Jennings, Green Bay Hard to object to this, I think Jenning's is being underrated, and I think he will likely creep up into the middle of round two over time.....

Yes, he had a "down year" with 1120 yards and 4 TDs (69 rec), and I expect him to be more the #1 this year than last. I'll take my chances. And hey! He's not on the Vikings! Dan 66 Posted June 15, 2010 Colston and DJax - Nice selections. Two of the other receivers that I was definitely considering. I like their potential. Colston - my only misgiving is the fact that anyone in New Orleans not named Drew Brees has the potential to be very sporadic in their scoring. Number one target . .. most of the time. DJackson - only misgiving is the change at QB. Is the kid the real thing? Definitely a different chemistry that must be developed. I've often been cautious of WRs moving to new situations because of that very issue. It only stands to reason that the question mark is going to be the same for a change even at home. One must wonder, just how high he may have gone if McNabb had stayed in Philly..... I cannot fault McNabb for wanting to get out of that armpit of a city, but he really dashed some FF value when he did so, and did not raise any values in DC in an appreciable manner.... Might be feast for famine with this kid, we all just have to sit back and watch Kolb unfold I think.....not out of line where he was taken, but his value is sketchy right now... My concern for the Eagles isn't with McNabb gone, and Corn had no problem finding DeSean when he was called upon. My concern for the eagles is also the silver lining for my pick. They can't/won't run. I feel this Qb and his group of Wr's improve this year.
WhiteWonder 2,732 Posted June 15, 2010 Thanks for taking DeSean, RC. Would have been a terribly difficult decision for me between him and Grant and I may have taken him despite sharing a bye week with Roddy (something i consider in this best ball/total points format more so than a H2H league). I agree the _____ to _____ QB switch doesnt bother me. I think if anything _____ will throw alot of picks but also find Jackson quite often for big plays. Excellent pick. Number one target . .. most of the time. Colston caught 3 or fewer balls 6 times last year, which speaks directly to your point and is why I have him ranked after Jackson. That said, im not real high on Jennings but maybe if they buy Rodgers more time he can start scoring again.
KSB2424 3,148 Posted June 15, 2010 My 3 person list was DeSean Jackson, Ryan Grant, then Cedric Benson. While the two above him were drafted right in front of me, and I'm not overly hyped on him, I'm still happy with Benson in the middle of the 3rd round. I see no reason why he cannot duplicate last year on that team. 1200 rush yards and 10 TD's is very plausible.

KSB2424 3,148 Posted June 15, 2010 but since Benson is on my do not touch under any circumstances list I'm sure he was on many peoples such list last year too. I have players that I will stay away from such as 30 year old RB's that are coming down the backside of their career curve. Much like LT2 last year. I was not going to draft Cedric in the first two rounds of this or any draft. However in this format, in the middle of the 3rd round, he is good value if you ask me. No reason he cannot duplicate last year whatsoever. I never automatically cut off any options under any circumstance. I might lower them on my board, which means they will more than likely never make it to me, but I never cut off my nose to spite my face.
WhiteWonder 2,732 Posted June 15, 2010 My 3 person list was DeSean Jackson, Ryan Grant, then Cedric Benson. I was wondering if you were going to use my method from last year (3 stud WR's). Figured you had your eye on DJax. That's okay. You're allowed to be wrong. I like him alot but I just dont think Rodgers had enough time last year to utilize Jenning's strengths (deep speed). Hopefully they have solved that problem and if so he may be a nice value pick. I never cut off my nose to spite my face. what if it makes your face look better? Not sure about last year, I recall grabbing him on one occasion, but each of us have players we will not touch mainly because to do so would be to simply grab them too early. By that I mean, in order for "me" to grab him it would have to be with either a 2nd, 3rd, or perhaps 4th round pick...and he is not worth any of them as I can get better value with another selection. i can get Benson-level value with a RB pick in round 4 or 5. WhiteWonder 2,732 Posted June 15, 2010 bored so ill share a my thought process for my round 2 and 3 picks. At 2.09 I had a short list at each position. WR - White, Rice, DJackson, Colston RB - Charles, Mathews, Grant having a tough time deciding between White and Charles I did what i do alot. try to predict what might be there for me in round 3. In other mocks I see the early picks go WR/WR alot on the 2nd and 3rd round swing. I figured at the very least, each guy picking between my selections would take 1 WR minimum and hopefully 1 of my 3 RB's would fall to me in round 3. worked this time but often backfires
Clash of the Titans 1 Posted June 15, 2010 i felt romo was too much value to pass on here- i expect the dallas offense to explode this season........i have him ranked #2 this year in qbs behind rodgers with his best year to date... a changing of the guard...while i have never been a proponent of ever drafting a qb early....i feel he is the end of the elite tier along with maybe one more....after the second tier right behind them i think qbs this year are a big ? mark......his upside to dominate his position was the choice over many other candidates left at 3.6 at rb/wr
KSB2424 3,148 Posted June 15, 2010 Romo is ballsy. However I expect the Dallas offense to be lights out this year as well. You might catch flack for the pick, but you will be laughing last at years end.

I've never been a big fan, but maybe that's just cause I'm paranoid. Or because he seems more GQ than QB, I dunno. Good grab for where it is . . . solid and safe.
