Jeepz 0 Posted August 16, 2010 I struggled between a wideout and taking McCoy here. Hell, I struggled between CedBen and McCoy. Anyway, the reason I went WR here was because we have to field three of them. I've always played with an RB/WR flex, and if that were the case here I would have grabbed McCoy. Knowing I need to field three WRs, figured I better keep adding to the pool. I like The Other Steve Smith in PPR, even if the Giants want to try to run more again this year. And I like his QB situation better than the other two WRs I was thinking about here.
RLLD 4,208 Posted August 16, 2010 I think McCoy will bring big rewards to you this year, I think he will emerge as a PPR beast, and a TD machine as well....
Gladiators 1,984 Posted August 16, 2010 There were certainly some safer picks out there, but with already having some PPR beasts at RB I felt Rice was worth the risk. If he can put up 90% of his '09 numbers, I'd be very happy.
FeelingMN 273 Posted August 16, 2010 There were certainly some safer picks out there, but with already having some PPR beasts at RB I felt Rice was worth the risk. If he can put up 90% of his '09 numbers, I'd be very happy. Rice has all the talent in the world, but the issue with him has always been health. '09, he put everything together and was able to stay on the field all season. So far '10 isn't looking too promising though. He's had a bad hip all offseason and hasn't taken part in camp.....didn't even show up for Fitz's offseason gig, which he had done last year. Still, it's hard to argue with the pick because if Sid is right, you landed a very good receiver. I just hope the inury doesn't affect his play all year. I considered a few other players with this pick, and am usually opposed to taking a QB before the 6th/7th, but I feel pretty confident I'm getting a solid signal caller here. Plus, one of the players considered for this pick should make it back around in the 5th.
Jeepz 0 Posted August 16, 2010 I'm hoping to land Schaub at exactly that spot in my family draft. I think he's solid value there, and as you say, it's likely some of your other options will circle around to you.
WhiteWonder 2,729 Posted August 16, 2010 Brady was a tough pick for me to make. I rarely take a QB early and considered Sidney Rice to complete a sick trio of WR's. In the end i decided there were enough mid-round WR's that I like so the better route was having a well rounded team.
remote controller 143 Posted August 16, 2010 I was looking at Brady at 3.07, then noted that Jeepz had a Qb and both White Wonder and V4E had went Wr/Wr just like me. I figured I'd see 3 rb's and 2 Qb's (worst case) drop before me, and i had 3 I could live with in Brady, Romo, and Schaub. Sure pays off to keep up with other peoples lineups. This has been as smooth and predicatable draft as I can remember for a long time. It's strictly a flavor thing but Forte was the first guy taken that suprised me some. Gladiators 1,984 Posted August 16, 2010 The only thing that's really surprised me so far is the fact that I actually took Sjax. I'm always on the side arguing that he's not worthy of his ADP. Here I am picking him in the middle of the second round...As a RB2 in PPR, I couldn't pass on that. I also grabbed him around 5 picks later than his ADP. Still not thrilled about him though. I was curious to see how the QB's would fall. Most of the leagues I'm in have about 80% of the people that are really into FF and the other 20% pick up a magazine the day of the draft. I wasn't sure if this group would draft QB's early, or if the top guys might actually slide a bit.
NAn 39 Posted August 16, 2010 Like the Brady pick there, solid WW. RC, that's why you should always track your drafts. Little QB run here made my choice easy, as will just wait on qb and went with Ocho: not as valuable as he once was in ppr, with the other options in Cincy plus team going to more of run ball/control clock/play d philosophy, but solid at this pt and solid #
Kevinv86 1 Posted August 16, 2010 With the Qbs taken that i wanted here, it made it a pretty easy decision here to go with a WR. I had a couple guys in mind but decided to go with Smith.
