Round 10 - Discussion

Recommended Posts

I had, in order, Spiller, Starks and Wells. Guess that didn't work out very well!!

WTF??? Where/why did Ray go?

I know what you're saying about sticking around for the turn but it's the weekend and we've caught up nicely. Into round 10 in less than a week.

I am trying to stay involved, just tons of family stuff....soccer all star games, lacrosse all star games, dance recital rehearsal and I still have to complete final prep on the house for a confirmation party tomorrow....

I feel Brandon Jackson goes to the dolphins and makes for a nice compliment to Daniels.

Really? I had not heard about that potential. Do you have a source for this or maybe hear it on talk radio or something?

Nice pick robb with wells

Thanks WW, but why do you think so? I am concerned about a) injuries and B) Williams taking snaps away.

At 9.12, I think it's good value and my only other consideration was a certain Washington running back.

wells had nagging injuries last year. i know he isnt the most durable back but i think we might see him be closer to his 2009 self.

i expect 1 RB in Arizona to be gone and I think Ryan Williams will push Wells to improve rather than steal as much of his work as some might think.

its a risky pick but a good gamble this late. He was on my short list for my 10th rounder.

Greg Little is the rookie WR I had my eyes on. He's going into a good situation with a young QB who is looking for his guy, and a solid running game with Hillis. He is a big athletic target I feel they will try to involve early in the season to try to soften up the middle.

i thought i could get Tebow at this next turn but Clash plucked him. If anyone picked him i knew it would be clash.

Can't say I like the D pick.

With Ds only getting points for TDs, it's nearly worthless to pick one before the last round.

JScott: so, you live in Telluride? I currently live in Estes Park and spent 20 years living in Gunnison (ice and cold capital of the frickin' world!).

Yep, just outside of T-ride (Ridgway, where True Grit was filmed). And yes, Gunni is one of the coldest f'n places I've ever been but love it there. It's right up there with Mt. Washington NH. Haven't been to Estes Park yet.

Ridgeway is our favorite places in all of Colorado. We drink at the True Grit, stay at Orvis Hot Springs and eat breakfast at Kete's Kitchen! You are a fortunate man. Do you know Kim Reynolds? RL Ranch?

Yep, all those places are great. Though we usually venture to Ouray's hot springs since we have young kids, but Kate's Place is a breakfast favorite. We live in the golf course development on the mesa outside of town. Next time your heading this way let me know. Remote's also waiting for an invite to do some fly-fishing.

Zach Miller and Brandon Pettigrew . . . right in front of me. Ouch. I almost took Pettigrew a round earlier, because I think he has a ton of upside. I love these tight ends this late. Nice value, well done.

Have to head out for a while. My list:

WR Robert Meachem, NO

TE Marcedes Lewis, JAX

TE Rob Gronkowski, NE

I'm OK with taking TE back to back.

I made my selection before looking at Vikes spoiler.

Mercedes Lewis is a guy I contemplated picking back when i selected Owen Daniels. I am really shocked he lasted this long in a standrard format. Not that i expect him to score 10 TD's again but Jax really doesn't have anyone and i think 8-9 scores is obtainable. We know one QB likes him enough and if they start a different QB, the Tight End is usually a security blanket

I hear this alot, and it seems to be true for a QB who can progress through his reads. I jst wonder if Gabbert can be classified that way or his he gonna be more prone to just taking off ala Vick? Lewis was a fine pick right here, I just hope the jags are smart enough to not change QB's yet and let the young one learn. If They keep the same QB, this pick is true gold!~

10.07 - WR Terrell Owens, CIN

Bit of an off the board pick here. Owens is a PITA for whichever team he's on but last season, his 1st with CIN, he finished ranked 13th overall (and he missed 2 games). His per game average was right there with 1st/2nd rounders Calvin, Wayne and DJax. He had chemistry with Palmer and they got him the ball. Not sure if he'll work as well with his next team/QB but at least he's shown in his mid-30s he can still get it done. Well worth the risk as my #4WR in the 10th.

This late, its a decent pick......if he stays in Cinncy then you might have something, if he moves on, you might have even more....
