Matt Mueller 146 Posted August 2, 2012 Man I remember hearing maroney would be the lead back and then when game time came he was no where to be seen. Wonder if belichik would really let on who his primary back is. Vereen was drafted before Ridley because he is the better runner. The guy is quick and strong. Ridley will prove ro be dependable but I see him more of a short yardage back. I think they go with the bigger play market and give more carries to vereen. I could be wrong but usually things are not what they seem in NE. As crazy as this sounds I think I had a dream last night about Vereen. Some shifty pats running back broke a long run and it wasn't Ridley. I should not be dreaming about this stuff...
Matt Mueller 146 Posted August 2, 2012 Anyone know if there is footage of the hits that lead to either of Best's concussions last year? I just re watched the game highlights on NFL.com and there was no mention of it. This was the game where Harbaugh and Schwartz acted like clowns. ** Ah he had one in the preseason and one in the 49ers game. If anyone knows of footage of the hit post it here. Besides that let's move on from Best. http://detroit.sbnation.com/detroit-lions/2011/10/17/2496389/jahvid-best-concussion-injury-lions

Matts Eagles 25 Posted August 21, 2012 I think I am content with my RBs: Donald Brown --solid so far Reggie Bush--should be solid and catches ball out of backfield Frank Gore--Jacobs and James gimpy Dwyer--Redman gimpy Shonn Greene--meh--plodder Willis--Hillman hammy--decent vet for Peyton Ryan Williams--should be good....not quite sure what Beanie will do Bernard Pierce--#2 behind Ray Rice

ralphster 274 Posted August 24, 2012 After debating some more i have decided that i am also happy with my rb. Is that why you just dropped Baron Batch? From the draft page the day you took him: "Well every rb I have drafted is the most physically talented back on their teams. This pick is no different and I expect the Steelers to wise up and start Batch once he is 100%. Actually I don't expect much, would pray be a better word to use?" EDIT: In other news I'm willing to trade some of my RB depth...

EDIT: In other news I'm willing to trade some of my RB depth... Ahh I see my post has attracted a few people to the immensely talented pool of RB I have acquired. I actually dropped batch to make room on my roster for a possible trade. I do like him but the backfield is crowded and we know that the best players arent always the ones utilized. And even if a player is the most physically gifted, it doesn't always translate to the field. I am always trying to talk myself up, especially with the crap shoot I went with at RB. Gotta stay positive. Just FYI, I am still praying. I guarantee you though my RB core will surprise some people.

ralphster 274 Posted September 10, 2012 So I dropped Morris to pick up a WR4 (Donald jones). Now that Fred Jackson is hurt I'm wishing I'd been more patient. May the creul yo yo that is the Shanahan running game be merciful to whoever picked him up. Correction: Merciful every week save the weeks he's playing me. Also I'm impressed at the points on Matt's bench and several other teams efficiency ratings over 80%.

I think Moore is a budding star and Hillman will have a nice role in future years while Murray can't stay on the field and I dont expect Brown to materialize into much if he can't get healthy. ralphster 274 Posted December 23, 2012 I would like to thank my excellent competition and our great commish for this year's inaugural FF Today Zealots Dynasty League. My winning lineup: RALPHSTER Player Pts Ryan, Matt ATL QB 33.70 Jackson, Steven STL RB 14.70 Sproles, Darren NOS RB 24.20 Green, A.J. CIN WR 21.60 Smith, Steve CAR WR 14.50 Wayne, Reggie IND WR 19.10 Williams, Mike TBB WR 28.20 Scheffler, Tony DET TE 10.15 Suisham, Shaun PIT PK 3.00 Dolphins, Miami MIA Def 18.00 Total: 187.15 Going in I was EXTREMELY skeptical that I had a chance - I was going up against Foster/Peterson/Dez/Cobb - all of which had been steamrolling the rest of the league these last few weeks. The fantasy sow gave me sweet rich milk today, and I am thankful.

Matt Mueller 146 Posted December 31, 2012 With the first year of the league in the books...what draft picks did you hit on...which do you wish you could have back? In retrospect for me Rodgers was a must at 9 overall and although QB is deep as ever I'm happy having him anchor my team for the next few years. Forte was solid but injury plagued and less effective than I had hoped...I would still make the same pick given the information at the time but AP would have been a lot better there. Bradshaw again was solid but injury plagued. Didn't like the pick at the time and in retrospect someone like Dez would have been much much better there. Just not smart at all. Loved Percy where I got him. Prob my steal of the draft. Drafting Best and Llyod instead of D. Wilson didn't hurt me too bad but was DUMB. I knew it at the time and took a win now risk that didn't pay off at all. My favorite late picks were Crabtree who is blossoming and Pitta who turned it on late last year and continued this year...although was inconsistent. Really enjoyed seeing Broyles emerge and hope he can get healthy again. My taxi looks strong him, Kap and Streater. Overall I had a blast and this league is keeping me on my toes as I look ahead to my redrafts next year. To a great 2013! Mull
WhiteWonder 2,685 Posted January 1, 2013 that sounds like a very solid foundation Matt. very nice taxi squad indeed. Kap and Broyles could start for many teams in deeper dynasties next season! excellent Crabtree and Pitta selections as well. had you gone AP instead of Forte you'd be money, but sounds like a great team anyway
ralphster 274 Posted January 1, 2013 With the first year of the league in the books...what draft picks did you hit on...which do you wish you could have back? Hits that performed above expectations: AJ Green (2nd) Matt Ryan (6th) Mike Williams (9th) Reggie Wayne (10th!) About what I thought they'd do: Sproles (3rd) F Jax (4th) S Smith (5th) Pettigrew (7th) Celek (11th) Misses that underperformed: Ryan effing Mathews (7th pick of the 1st round) Greg Little (8th) Dan Thomas (11th) Delone Carter (17th) Kevein Smith (14th) - anyone know what he did to deserve the shaft? Wow wtf did I do: Drafted Alf Morris in the 22nd round and dropped him week 2 (I think)... <-- That genius move really hurt considering the misses at RB. I like Givens, Cyrus Gray and Posey on my taxi, but Givens prolly moves up next year. Lots of age on the team, so that's going to have to be dealt with. Hopefully whoever SD hires as HC will maximize Mathews next year (and hopefully he finds carbon fiber to reinforce his bones in the offseason). I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out.
