stonewall 647 Posted July 6, 2012 This mock is currently underway. It was started by Portis26, but he isn't on here enough to keep it updated, so we just switched threads so I could try and keep it moving along. We will try to go 15 rounds if participants stay active. Please feel free to give reasons and thought-processes for each pick. Here are the basics: 12 teams 0.5 per catch 4 PTS per TD pass The rest 1 pt per 10 yd caught or ran and 1 pt per 20 passing Defensive scoring standard (not low, not overly high) and K's get 3 pt for all FG and 1 per EP. We start 1 QB, TE, D, and K / 2 RB's and 3 WR's each week. 6 man bench Updated: 1.01 1. Portis26 - Ray Rice 1.02 2. whitewonder - Arian Foster 1.03 3. stonewall - LeSean McCoy 1.04 4. stonewall 647 Posted July 6, 2012 3.03 Gronkowski - Yes, a slight regression is likely in the works. But, with 90/1327/18 last season, I can stomach a little regression. I can't let him fall any further. When healthy last year he, to any honest observer, appeared simply unstoppable. As Tight Ends go, he is expensive.....but still good value in the 3rd IMHO. Yep you stole my guy. I think there's a drop after Bradshaw...have I talked about him recently much? I'll settle for the last of the qbs...Stafford is the pick. stonewall 647 Posted July 7, 2012 We are drafting this weekend....correct? Yes.....strangely, waiting on jocstrap. I think we have everyone on board now. I had heard earlier this would be a 4 round drafty, but now up to 15. Will it really last 15 or should we settle at a compromise of, say....10? In keeping with realism, I am hoping to take it the distance. We'll see if everyone actually stays involved. Rounds 10-15 are the "championship rounds" in many drafts. However, I understand if you would rather not be involved that long. If that is the case, let me know before your next 2 picks and I will get you a replacement interested in a full mock. I am here until Wednesday, then off to a meeting in Vail but I'll have internet access, so shouldn't be a problem. Next weekend I am at a wedding so it wouldn't be cool to be drafting while that is going on! So, if not done by next weekend I my need some assistance, let's see how it goes. No problem. In fact, if you (or anyone else) knows you are going to be unavailable, just shoot me a message with a couple of targets for the next pick or two and I will make them for you. stonewall 647 Posted July 7, 2012 We could put it up on MFL which will send email reminders to everyone. Sounds good, but not sure how to do this Mike. Something I do or you do? Like Robb, I click the "Watch This Topic" tab on a thread like this that I want to actively follow, then choose "delayed notification" which will send out a notification if a reply has been made and you're not active on the board. However, I am sure that others probably don't.

jocstrap 8 Posted July 7, 2012 Nice pick here Jock.....remind me to not send you a reminder if you are going to take my targets!! LOL. fixed:) I usually like to add running backs often and early. Trying something different here with cj2k then Jennings and AJ Green. This looks like a pretty good start on paper
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted July 8, 2012 Mike is away from his computer, and has left word with me who he wants. He will add commentary later. Mike MacGregor at 3.07 takes Julio Jones Thanks stonewall. Even with a QB-WR start, taking a BPA approach led me to another WR over reaching for one of the available RB. Jones has so much potential in his second year it is nearly a coin flip who will end with better receiving numbers on his team. Fortunately for Jones, playing opposite Roddy White guarantees less attention from defenses and eases the risk of a sophomore slump. The Falcons may run more, but are they capable with their current personnel? They already plan to scale back Michael Turner and I don't think Jacquizz Rodgers can add too much to his workload. robb 71 Posted July 8, 2012 Let's try and draft a lot all day Sunday as I am hearing some computer's internet access may be effected by the malware virus on Monday. Hope not, but you can never be too cautious.
stonewall 647 Posted July 8, 2012 Don't know what happened to jgcrawfish, but he has been on the clock for 20 hours....too long. From this point forward, we will have a 12 hour max per pick. Preferably, things can go much more quickly than that, but that will be a max. After 12 hours, I will make the pick based on BAP, with consideration to your existing roster. I understand that we can't be on here all the time, so if you expect to be absent for a pick, simply send me a couple of targets in an IM, and I will see that you get your guy, if available. At 3.08, jgcrawfish selects Wes Welker - With 122 receptions/1600 total yards/9 TD's last season, it would be hard to complain about landing this Tier 1 WR in the late 3rd. Yes, Gronk, Hernandez, and Lloyd will get theirs, but when you have a QB bombing away for 5 grand, there is plenty to go around, particularly for the teams WR1. FeelingMN 273 Posted July 8, 2012 3.09 Mike Wallace Really wanted Julio at this spot, but will settle for Wallace. Might have gone with a different player if it's August and still no Wallace in camp, but right now I have to think the Steelers will get something worked out to ensure Wallace doesn't miss too much pre-season action. Word is Roethlisberger has looked good so far in workouts and is soaking up Haley's offense, which focuses on the passing attack. If Wallace reports sooner than later, he should post WR1 numbers in a potent Steeler passing game.

Matt Mueller 146 Posted July 9, 2012 Someone want to take over my spot? I was down with 4 picks but after that Zealots draft I'm burnt out. Matthews-Graham-Stafford so far...
giraldi02 470 Posted July 9, 2012 3.11 Hakeem Nicks If healthy, and by most if not all reports he is, he is a great value in the late third round. In pairing Nicks with White I have two receivers that move the chains for their respective offense. Hakeem Nicks was 11th in the league in first down catches with 54. He's also coming off a dominating playoff run in which he caught 28 balls for 444 yards and 4 scores. Additionally, only Matt Stafford, Drew Brees, and Tom Brady had more passing attempts than Eli Manning, so you know that the opportunity is there for the NYG star receiver. This move was assisted by the taking of Fred Jackson, whom I was targeting ahead of Nicks.
robb 71 Posted July 9, 2012 3.12 WR Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys 4.01 WR Demarius Thomas, Denver Broncos Giraldi taking Nicks at 3.11 just killed me! I had so wanted to pair him with Bryant and now I had to settl for Thomas (all based on Manning with him at 4.01). I had also targeted Welker and Wallace, but taken in front of me also. Nice picks guys! I see no value at the 3/4 turn in QB, TE and RB, so wanted to get my starting receivers. Bryant has a bad schedule and Austin to contend with, and if he doesn't do it this year he never will. There were really a drop off to the next tier of WRs, IMO. stonewall 647 Posted July 9, 2012 Someone want to take over my spot? I was down with 4 picks but after that Zealots draft I'm burnt out. Matthews-Graham-Stafford so far... ohhhh kaaaaaaay Actually, Mike Krueger was gonna fill the last openign we had, when Mike MacGregor jumped in (I had invited both). So, Matt's position in the 4-hole is reserved for Mike FFToday, unless he declines. I have sent him a message.
giraldi02 470 Posted July 9, 2012 4.02 Percy Harvin Notice a trend? While this is a run of immense proportions on wide receivers, I still don't feel comfortable with many of the available backs this early. Instead I'll take Harvin here and round out my starting wide receiver corps. What more can be said about Harvin's breakout campaign last season? Perhaps maybe, the best is still yet to come, especially if ADP misses significant time this season due to injury.

Stewburtx8 67 Posted July 9, 2012 I was really hoping to get Percy Harvin with this pick. I have him as a top 10 WR in PPR leagues. But I thought Fred Jackson was better value and he was the last RB I liked in that tier. 4.03- Victor Cruz I do not expect a repeat of last year, but with Manningham gone and Eli Manning very comfortable throwing him the ball, I do not expect to see his numbers decrease much. I wouldn't really want him as my WR1, but I took a different approach in this draft taking a QB in the first round.

FeelingMN 273 Posted July 9, 2012 4.04 Jeremy Maclin Owned Maclin two years ago and was very happy with his production. He isn't a guy that'll disappear very often, and certainly not for consecutive weeks. I know he's getting a lot of hype currently....mostly from the Eagles themselves, but I think he's capable and has good rapport with his QB. Maclin gets the nod over other WRs because I consider him the top WR on his team, he's motivated, and is playing on what should be one of the best offenses in the league.....if Vick stays healthy. giraldi02 470 Posted July 10, 2012 12 of last 13 picks are WR's This is actually the first draft I've done this year, but it seems to me like rounds 2 - 5 are going to be heavily WR focused with runs like this the norm. The position is so deep as well. Very interesting to see whether this remains consistent as drafts continue. Doesn't seem like many running backs will slide up too far on draft boards barring injury or exceptional camp/ preseasons
