Since it seems that everyone has said everything they want to say, i will bump this thread one final time to announce that kanil and igotsthewerms are our new owners, may the The Council of Mikes have mercy on their souls. Thanks to everyone else who asked to join. Sorry we couldnt include everyone. In the end i only got votes from two other owners, so i felt like that wasnt really a good enough response to use the voting results and chose the first two who responded.

 

Also, as far as i can tell the No RB'ers did not get the requisite 5 votes to block changing the flex to RB/WR/TE.

 

That probably concludes all business until we draft sometime in August. My time here will be sporadic at best for the next few weeks, as summer baseball swings into high gear. If you need me, send me a PM

Sorry....ive been meaning to look into this for a while, and it got put on a back burner and then i forgot....

 

Last season we started the draft on Aug 26, and it looks like it took us about 5 days to finish the draft. So, assuming we could do it that quickly again (and i remember most of us being shocked we got it done so fast) to meet your deadline we would need to start no later than the 8th. Preseason games dont start until the 8th, and by the 13th preseason week 1 would be the only games finished. Im thinking that that wouldnt really be a great time to start drafting. Im thinking that we would want AT LEAST two full weeks of preseason, and preferably 3 to be fair.

 

If we started after the Preseason week 2, the draft could start Monday August 19.

 

If we started after the Preseason week 3 games, the draft could start Monday Aug 26. Also the first big cut down day is August 27...teams have to be at 75 players by 4 PM the 27th. I think this cutdown day would be a helpful marker for the later rounds.

 

I wouldnt be completely opposed to starting the 19th, but i think i would prefer the 26th.

 

Personally i think the earlier we start the draft, the more we have to rely on what happened last year, as opposed to what is happening this year. By Preseason week 3, we should be starting to see how new players/coaches/systems are working out. Im more comfortable waiting and drafting closer to the start of regular season games. The first regular season game is Sept 5, so we have to be completely done by this date, no matter what. Also, we will need some time for me to input rosters to yahoo, assuming we have the same set up as last year (using MFL to track the draft, Yahoo to track the season). Starting the 26th means we would have 11 days to get the draft done from start to finish.

 

Anyway, those are my thoughts. But since i am a Commissioner of the People, i will listen to your debate on the subject.

While this is complete truth, you have to remember where you are bro. Half these focks we have beg just to put their draft picks in. So in the future, do this shtt right before we draft or close to the beginning of the season when folks are geared up. Folks are not geared up in focking June.

i agree, but we need something in stone. also, we need final answers on, roster size, starting lineup requirements, playoffs, schedule, etc.
