Dexter Final Season and Spinoff

Recommended Posts

I thought last season was great. Maybe the best since the second season. How do you think they are going to wrap it up considering that there is a spinoff in the plans.

Dexter gets killed?

Dexter goes to jail?

Nothing happens to Dexter?

And what character can pull off a spin off? Deb seems to be the most likely one, but she's way too emotional to take over as the family serial killer. So does the spinoff just follow her police career?

What's your thoughts?

I thought Dexter has sucked for the last several seasons. It started with the whole Harrison angle. You could tell the writers had no idea what or where they were going with this story. It's going to end like season six of Lost.

Who asked you?

Oh wait. I did.

I could go on and on why and how the writers completely fvcked this show up. I'm not going to waste a lot of time on it because it reminds me too much of what happened with Lost. It's sad to invest a lot of time into a good concept like Dexter only to watch writers take a brick of gold and turn it into a piece of sh1t.

I really enjoyed last season. I thought they really turned it around. I do have my fears about the upcoming season though. What's your thoughts on the spinoff. They are being very hush hush about who what when and where.

I am almost through season 5. Been a pretty decent show that at times tries too hard

This. They got away from what made the show good. Clever story-lines with believable bad guys. The gay Russian mobster guys in the last season were just silly.

Seasons 1 , 2 and 4 were the best. Last season wasn't as bad as some make it out to be - it was watchable unlike the Jimmy Smits season :wall:

Since the spinoff thing has to fly - it cannot end with the DREAM angle so it's basically 1 of 3 things

A. The most probable -- Dexter spends the last season learning how to stop killing and finally quits -- during the season of course he kills people and so forth but at the end he hangs up the knives.

B. 2nd most likely - The hawt chick from Chuck comes back and at the end Kills Dexter and dumps his body the same way he has dumped all of his own victims -- then the Spinoff is about her

C. the least likely is that Dexter ends up in Jail

The spinoff really only works with that Chick from Chuck being who it's based on. Seriously do we need another cop show? So basing it on Deb is boring ---- Unless the spin off is really a flashback series to like when Dexter was in college or something that might be cool.

This is the first season since prior to the 5th I have really wanted to watch the show to see how it ends. Of the main cast I only see Deb and Dex making it out and maybe that nutso chinaman

I've really enjoyed watching the show, but it seems to have lost its' way a bit after about the 4th season. Last season was pretty decent though and I'm looking forward to seeing how it ends.

Having said that, I have no interest in the spinoff. Other than Dexter, there is no character on that show that I really care that much about and I don't think that any of them are strong enough to carry their own series.

He brings a little comic relief and I enjoy his character. But would I watch a whole series based around him? I'm thinking definitely no.

The chick from Chuck from last season was hot and a serial killer

The only spermoff I would accept would be 1 in which she was the star

Considering how much the books suck, I'd say the writers have done a wonderful job.

I have to agree with Moz... Seasons 1, 2 & 4 were the only ones worth watching.

I would say 1 and 4 along with the Dexter / Dokes dialogue in the cabin from season 2.

I agree that deb would not really be a good spin off. The matsuto might have possiblitlies, but again, it would be just another cop show. It would be great if they killed everyone off except Dexter and he moved to another city or catch him, but let him go because the last thing they want is another serial killer associated with the Miami PD. Dokes would be the other. But that's not really a spin off. Angel can't carry his own show. Quinn can die now as far as I'm concerned. Lundy would have been interesting.

Season 2 is probably my favorite. I actually wouldn't have included the first season, but since it's what started the whole thing, I kinda feel I have to. I will also admit that last season wasn't THAT tragic, with the exception of the whole Deb is in  with Dex angle. :puke:

That's season 5.

4 was Trinity... Jon Lithgow (the best season IMO)

I happen to agree about season 4 and will have to revise my earlier post. Trinity was great and Lithgow nailed the role.

Season 4 was epic, by far the best killer in Trinity mainly because Lithgow portrayed it so perfectly. "You ######!" Best line from the show.

Last season was solid, season's 5 and 6 sucked for the most part.

I think it ends with Dexter dying and Deb continuing his legacy as the spinoff that I will not watch because I focking hate Deb.

This is the first I've heard about a spinoff... Why on earth would they want to do that?

I could see them flashing forward 20 yrs and having a show based around Harrison... meh...

Lithgow always nails Pyscho bad guy roles - it is what he was meant to play.

regarding Deb -- We focker Deb Focking hates you focking to you focked up focking fock!

This might be a good idea. Have Dexter and Deb die in the end -- then have the chick from Chuck Raise Harrison. Potential.

I like Harrison's nanny better.

Maybe they are going to introduce a new character this season for the spin off.

I thin k Old Maid pretty much nailed it! The most successful spermoff would be for it to fast forward 20 years and have it be Harrison.

I agree if it's what most people are saying -- that Dex dies and Deb basically picks up where he left off -- it might last 2 seasons and thats it.

I have always thought the Chuck chick was one of the hawtest wimmens I have seen on the TV's. Maybe I am just partial

No doubt she's super hot. Although, I never made the connection between Chuck and Dexter. I'm just more of a brown eyes/hair/skin guy.

When I think hottest wimmens I've seen on TV, my immediate thought is Jessica Alba on Dark Angel.

Jessica Alba for movie stars no doubt - totally agree. But she was only on TV for a little while.

Bingo. Also Dexter running around trying to be a father, serial killer, etc is the stupidest storyline possibly ever.

And he's the absolute worst father ever. Keeps his kid locked up in another apartment. Just give the kid up for adoption already. Or at least get a kid(s) with some personality. Those Kids are going into their 4th season, and can't even talk. Michelle from full house was saying "no way Jose" when the Olsen twins were barely 2.

The only possible way for this show to end is Deb and Dexter getting married, training Harrison to be a serial killer, and spinning him off to his own show. Anything other than that will be a total fail. The writers have painted themselves into this corner.

Everything I read -- is the show is deciding still whether to kill dexter or let him live -- and the Spin - off being about his sister Deb being the serial killer. I don't like it either but thats where they are right now

Yeah, I just read that the spinoff would prolly be centered around Deb. Holy frankenfock, that's a bad idea.

I doubt they'll use Deb as a serial killer. Jennifer Carpenter has been venturing off to film and is trying not to be typecast as "Deb".

Ironically, that's just the type of thing Deb would say.
