Vick owners

Recommended Posts

I've been toying with the idea of buying low on the likes of brady, romo, ryan etc... Am I being to hasty?

What are you guys doing with your #1 stud fantasy QB with a serious injury risks?

I paired him with Brady, and the two should be perfect compliments to each other. I floated Vick out as a trade option, and got zero interest so I'll just play him until I can't.

Fortune favors the bold.

I wouldn't take Tom Brady and his 3-stooges receivers for Vick right now unless the deal was done at gunpoint.

If Vick gets hurt, he gets hurt. Until then, you have gold. Talk to Ray Rice owners about how even the most durable players can go down. It's always a roll of the dice.

I started Kaep over him reluctantly... yea it hurts..

I was blinded by his superb game 1 and slightly underestimated that Seattle D, it's legit.

Same issue I've had. I posted on the league message board he was available (have Brees too) and nobody wants him. I was offered Edelman for him by one owner and another guy offered me his 2nd round pick in the rookie draft next year. No thanks. I'll keep using him until he gets injured before I'll let him go for nothing. No sense in helping out the competition. If he has another game or two like these, people will begin to send offers. As of now, people are worried about his health, with reason.

At this point, Vick is unbenchable...no matter who else you have at the position.

In terms of trade value...its difficult to say because everyone has their preconceived notions of Vick as a football player. Many people don't believe he can stay healthy (myself included), but if there's someone in your league that thinks he can...why not? Vicks value will not be any higher than it is before Thursday nights game.

This is what I assumed as well, but like you said the guy is winning me games so why the hell would I sell him cheap because YOU THINK he will get hurt?

I'm thinking of offering Vick for a top tier running back. My running backs are Martin, Jones-Drew, Deangelo W, and Tate. I have Kaepernick as my starting QB, and will pick up some scrub QB off waivers.

I got screwed on draft day by an owner that went on autopick and ended up with Kaepernick and RGIII. I went with Vick and backed him up with Bradford. Right now Vick is the only guy who is standing toe to toe with Peyton and Rodgers. Getting him as the 13th QB picked is just a bonus. I talked with the owner of RGIII/Kaep after the draft about a trade for one of them, but the cost for them is too high and reality is that I can't get fair value for Vick anyway from anybody else, so I guess I'm back on the Vick roller coaster like 2 yrs ago.

like another poster said... i'm not willing to give vick away...

to me he is worth a mid tier QB + an upgrade at another position...

i'm eyeing something like

Vick + Lamar for Luck + Ridley

or

Vick + Andre Johnson for Romo + Julio Jones...

i doubt either owner would accept, but that's where i value him... Vick's upside is top 3 QB IMO... although i doubt i'll be able to get that value

Like people have posted above Vick really has little value at this moment. So many QBs has performed well enough that you will not find a desperate owner in a 12 team league. There are probably even some startable QBs like Rivers on the ww. After Vick clutched his groin at the end of the Monday night game and missing the play at the end of the Chargers game are reminders that Vick is a very fragile QB.

I've also found the same thing can be true about depth at TE. I've got a Gronk/Cameron combo in 2 leagues but there isn't a team that is QB needy enough. So many TEs have had big games that everyone is comfortable where they are at.

I have him as a back up on 2 teams, both 2 QB leagues behind Peyton and Romo on 1, Romo and Kaep on the other. These were 11th round draft picks betting on the upside and also TO KEEP HIM AWAY FROM OTHERS IF HE DID GO OFF, which looks golden right now. He hasn't started yet, but he will this week in place of Romo and then I'll play it by ear after that.

I am covered for injury risk because I have 4th QB ( Pryor) on each team.

I paired him with Peyton. Trying desperately to trade him for an RB.

Might have a Vick and Chris Ivory for Lamar Miller and Mark Ingram worked out.

That would make my lineup:

Peyton

Spiller

Lamar Miller

DT

Cruz

Witten

Sproles

DST

K

Uh yeah... .5 point ppr too
