Healthcare.gov, the troubled website set up to help Americans choose and enroll in a health care policy, crashed early Monday morning, on the final day to begin the process to apply for health insurance.

 

According to a CNBC story, the website crashed around 3:20 a.m. (ET) Monday. It was still down as of 7:40 a.m.

Awesome. All I've asked from the beginning was that they figure out the problems and make this thing better. Close the loopholes, figure out who's care is being overlooked, who's paying too much, etc. Taking steps to improve the online experience can only be looked at as a plus.

The Obama administration says a new technical problem is preventing last-minute users from signing up on the government's health insurance website. The new problem comes as traffic is surging on deadline day.

Health and Human Services spokesman Aaron Albright says technicians have identified an issue affecting consumers who are trying to create new accounts.

 

As a result, new users will not be able to access the system for the time-being. Technicians are working to fix the problem.
