robb 71 Posted July 1, 2014 With this QB run I am so pleased to have taken Ryan when I did. I was wanting Cutler, but was thinking he could be taken before he got to me at the bottom of the ninth. I was proven right. Selecting on the corner makes one need to "start" the runs, not be at the end of them!
remote controller 133 Posted July 1, 2014 Runs predominantly begin on the corner. I hear all the time people trying not to get caught in one. In the middle it's hard not to, and by the end....it's over.
WhiteWonder 2,172 Posted July 1, 2014 I can honestly I don't get caught in "runs" in the sense that I never see four or five receivers get drafted and think "crap I better grab one". For example the round we had like 9 receivers go in a row, I was already targeting receiver that round. Same with cutler here. My plan was to go back to back with two upside guys. I actually thought about passing kaepernick but I like his upside. I try not to let runs impact the strats I already have in place
snatchit 108 Posted July 1, 2014 I wonder if mike is going to pick for 420 again ?
420allstars 13 Posted July 1, 2014 I'm here. Sorry fella.
remote controller 133 Posted July 1, 2014 .....but WW, you did participate in the run. None of us want to, and many of us have a player in mind they want in that position. If he's there, we participate in the run.
snatchit 108 Posted July 1, 2014 All I can say is I am so happy I got in the middle of a WR and RB run and grabbed one of them. If you pass while there is a 5 or 6 run you find yourself in a major drop off in talent the next round. Of course don't grab one just to grab one.. But if you need one you better get it or you will be sorry
snatchit 108 Posted July 1, 2014 Why not 420, especially the possibility of rushing TD's. I believe he will be the starter

If he's there, we participate in the run. I guess I just see a difference between coincidentally drafting the same position that happened to be getting picked and actively being influenced by a run. Like if a few QBs start going and you feel pressured into taking one before you miss out... But I see your point in the general sense
remote controller 133 Posted July 1, 2014 9.07 - Cecil Shorts - I am very happy with my round 8 and 9 picks. I was stuck between Shorts and Bowe in round 8, and went with Bowe who I had barely (1.5 pts.) below Shorts. I just thought Bowe had more upside. Shorts is in a contract year and has added help in the position this year to open him up some. I also feel Gerhart is a top 10 rb in this format and will help tie up defensive backfields. I project Cecil for 900 yards, on 75 receptions with 6 Td's......1.5 points above my projection for Bowe. We'll see. Happy to get them both as my #3 and #4. snatchit 108 Posted July 1, 2014 Cecil was my next pick.. Then Stewy.. They say he is in his best shape in a long time.. He catches a lot of passes, DWILL is 31. Remember Rivera said he wasn't going RBBC and Stewy was the man then he hurt his leg.

Remember Rivera said he wasn't going RBBC and Stewy was the man then he hurt his leg. There's no reason to think Stewart will stay healthy this season, and he hasn't been effective at all the last 2 years when he's played.

Mr. Landry 28 Posted July 1, 2014 Really like the Riley and Shorts picks as they were the next two in my queue. With Blackmons suspension, Shorts is the #1 and I think will be more like his 2012 self. Without Jackson, Riley will get more looks. Both are excellent #4 WRs. Mr. Landry 28 Posted July 1, 2014 9.10 Danny Woodhead. With the two guys I really wanted sniped just before my pick and no other WR screaming for my attention, I abandoned the position. Woodhead had the second most catches by a back last year (missed it by one) and, despite the addition of Donald Brown, should continue in his change of pace role. The Chargers love him and I read a stat that said he had the most points per touch of any RB in the league last year. Can't argue with that as an RB #4. I see him approaching 1,000 total yards and 60 catches. I'll take it.
WhiteWonder 2,172 Posted July 1, 2014 I like j stew but a little early for my taste. Still just a lottery ticket at this point
JScott 20 Posted July 1, 2014 Without Jackson, Riley will get more looks. Both are excellent #4 WRs. Disagree on Riley. DJax is gone but now they bring back Maclin, add the rookie and another year further along for their TE. Cooper's numbers will go down imo.

He is the guy that Rivers trusts in big spots and that won't change He was the big reason that SD came back last yaer.

ShooterMcGavin 3 Posted July 1, 2014 Mr. Landry JScott-I disagree because he has a full year of Foles at QB, instead of 5 games with vick where he really didn't do anything. While they do overall have a lot more options this year he still is the Eagles best downfield threat and averages 2.9 more ypc than Maclin over his career. WhiteWonder 2,172 Posted July 1, 2014 Tend to agree with JScott regarding cooper
robb 71 Posted July 1, 2014 9.12 Terrance West. Rookie, competing with Tate and Crowell. Crowell, if he can stay out of the drug-program, could give West a push for the #2 job, but I believe West fits what the Browns want to do more so than Crowell. Tate.... he could get injured, or play all 16 games. If he plays all the games then West is the #2 unless he beats him out. The Browns indicate they want to run the ball, so I figure West makes a good #3 RB on my team, who plays on a team that wants to run. 10.01 Devonta Freeman. Wow...... what great potential here! SJax can get hurt crossing the street and if so, I believe Freeman will get the starting nod. I know the Falcons want to pass more, but Freemen has the potential to be a 3-down back in a passing offense. __(other RB)__... he has had his opportunities and hasn't run away with it so the Falcons spent a valuable 4th round pick on a back to replace him, IMO. In all honesty, I couldn't decide which one of these two to select in the 9th, so I took them both! I am hopeful one, if not both, will get some meaningful playing time this year. And, I needed some running back assistance and felt if I waited neither one would be there in the 11th round.
snatchit 108 Posted July 1, 2014 Damn it, just read that devonte freeman will be taking over sooner than later.. Was my next target . Nice snag my friend
Mr. Landry 28 Posted July 1, 2014 10.03 Rueben Randle. Randle had a very solid year last year when Nicks was out and, had they not drafted a WR, I think he would have been huge this year. With the drafting of the WR, I think he will be upper mid-sized with the potential for big. Randle is the largest WR that the Giants have, which is to his advantage, and the Giants have switched to a much simpler offensive scheme this year (I've read that he had troubles with the offense the Giants ran last year). He's got a high ceiling and as a #4 WR that is what you want.
JScott 20 Posted July 1, 2014 Carlos Hyde: When I saw the young RB run start on the turn I projected all of the ones I wanted to run out one in front of me with Landry. Was shocked he didn't grab Hyde to 'cuff Gore. I was the perfect scenario for him imho. Happy he went WR instead.
snatchit 108 Posted July 1, 2014 No kidding on Hyde !!!
remote controller 133 Posted July 1, 2014 10.06 - RB Fred Jackson, BUF - Fred is still good for 1000 combined, 35 to 40 receptions and 6-7 TD's. Can't find a valid prognostication that doesn't parrot this. Spiller has not been able to bust out the gate and rbbc is still the norm. It's a contract year for him and they will not re-sign so that means they will use him without concern.
remote controller 133 Posted July 1, 2014 I like the tavon pick. He should produce the whole year to be like the way he started to produce late last year.

Almost went with him the round before instead of Woodhead. But according to the set up we're only supposed to draft four RBs and I have my four. Unless I misunderstood the parameters.
