I'm in. The best you can say about any of them is that they did a few things you agreed with. But you have people on both sides, mostly with Reagan and Clinton, who want to make them seem better than they were. In my opinion the only great ones were Washington, Lincoln and the Two Rooosevelts. Eisenhower and Clinton rode a wave, and Reagan was just better than the three before him. Never know about JFK.

I'd estimate that 99% of people who favor banning semi-automatic weapons are unable to identify nor explain what they are.

 

It further amuses me that people want to ban these particular weapons when so few deaths or injuries are related to them. The illegal handguns are the problem, or you could argue handguns in general are the problem. Semi-automatic weapons are a red herring and the mishaps are negligible. You might as well ban zeppelins.

 

It is amazing that in a country with 300 million guns, you'd think we would have many, many more gun mishaps. But, we don't. Legal gun owners tend to be extremely responsible. Illegal gun owners are the driving force of problems with gun.

Obama is working on banning guns surreptitiously. He has already issued an executive order banning certain ammunition.

 

Actually, he revoked an exemption for one type of armor piercing ammo. Armor piercing ammo is already banned. The reason for the exemption was that the ammo wasn't used in pistols and had no history of being a problem. The reasoning behind revoking the exemption is there are now pistols available using the ammo in question.

 

It still hasn't been a problem, and the exemption should still be in place imo.
