President Obama commutes the sentences of 46 drug offenders

Read a book last week on this very topic called Just Mercy, excellent and quick read if you want to educate yourself (worms?). I have to believe our fearless leader (Obama) also read the book. Unbelievable stuff. The author/lawyer has spent his whole career fighting for people on death row (amongst other injustices especially to minors who are serving life with no parole) who should've never landed there. The biggest reason they wind up there is they can't afford quality representation coupled with basically POS law enforcement trying to satisfy the local public. Not so funny thing is, some of these guys who spend years on death row who are later proven innocent, get zero compensation. They get thrown back into freedom with absolutely nothing, sometimes not even their families. I just hope the Prez is carefully reviewing each case individually.

I know bigger government is your answer to all our problems, but in this case I think smaller government is better. If having a large percentage of our population in jail reduced crime we should have the lowest crime rate in the world.
