As a Pats fan, I don't think Big Ben was doing anything intentionally wrong even if it was a phone. From the video, it looks like someone must have said something in his headphone like , you're on TV cause he got a deer in headlights look and immediately put the phone/wristband into his pocket. If it was a phone a little $5000 fine would have been appropriate.

 

But knowing Goddell if it was clearly a phone, then all bets are off on what he would have done. Big Ben has already been suspended once. Would have been interesting to see his over reaction to this one. Alienating the Rooneys on top of Kraft would spell the end of the commissioner.

 

I think most Pats fans were a little put off from Tomlinson's whining after the Pats beat the Steelers opening night. So, needling the Steelers about phonegate is understandable. Sarcasm is a way of life in Boston and apparently not understood in all parts of the US.
