I didn't expect (though hopeful) to get Adrian Gonzales but Tollenson & Volquez stung a little...

Justin Turner was my next pick. Back of my I head I knew you'd grab him there.

I was surprised Mooks passed him up, the guy was a beast last year and is eligible at all the infield positions, I meant to pick him in the previous round but my brain farted.

I don't feel really great about my team. We'll see how the sup shakes out.

I agree about the weed. Also this draft is pretty focked for my team. Also, I agree about the weed comment.

50/50, i'd say. I got the top player on MY board even if Price might rate higher but Bautista and Price are so far ahead of my next options that its probably a win just to get 1 of them. Could have been behind both Toronto (or KC) AND Boston and missed both.... Davis was #3 on my little list. Zobrist was 7th but only because he's not SS eligible at yahoo and i'm assuming he might not get it at any point this year like he would have with the Rays. Knowing Price was gone when Toronto picked #1, I slotted Shields, Kazmir and Odorizzi as my #4-#6 since the Rays pitching is not quite what it used to be (Price now available to half the league... Alex Cobb on the DL... Garza being a bum....) The Kazmir/Odorizzi thing was priceless. After CMH drafted his 1/2 turn, I had all intentions of making Shields my round 3 pick. Up until about the end of round 1 I had Kazmir neck and neck with Shields and was not even considering Odorizzi because I have all the Rays other starters but right before I made the pick I started thinking how Kazmir faded in the 2nd half of the last two seasons, big time last season and that Odorizzi was younger with higher upside.... plus I could give CMH a little payback :D . I didn't want to potentially hold up round 2 so I put Shields there so I could think a little more about Kazmir vs. Odorizzi. I was leaning Odorizzi but COMPLETELY forgot the Indians hadn't picked yet and had rights to Kazmir.

essentially I got 3 out of my top 7 players.

Rodney and Benoit were #8 and #9. Both are getting very old but Benoit has been a machine and the guy in front of him for saves has been shaky. At worst he should produce good holds. Rodney could be a total bust but I wanted a 3rd guy going into the season as the closer.

Lost out on Jepsen who was #10... similar situation to Benoit. Perkins is not a shaky closer but has dealt with injuries and Jepsen should be good holds regardless.

Asdrubal kind of hurt because SS is such a bad fantasy position this year once you get past the top 5 or 6 and I doubt there will be a name worth drafting in the SUPP. Really wanted him as insurance. Guess I'm rolling with Brad Miller or his in house replacement.

So ZeroTolerance took 3 guys (so far) from me. He's likely done with those eligible and only 2 of those I was necessarily looking at with Davis and Gomes. Not shocked I lost them due to his roster needs at all.

Knew obviously once I took Price I wasn't getting Bautista. I was confident that is be able to get enough in the draft to fill the lineup as long as I got Werth or Cabrera. Ended up with both of them. Still have the supplemental now to add to that or pitching.

Martin was a need. Especially after Gomes was gone so early. Luckily ted had too many better players and had an exclusive option at C.

Having a shortage of SP I was looking forward to Dickey and Chavez to get the entire TOR mediocre staff. But no.

Rasmus was taken way too early for me to even stress about.

Valencia would have been a nice sneaky pick as bbascom forgot about him but Mookz didn't, just 2 picks before mine.

Really happy with Happ.

Farking Farquhar should be solid.

If Lowe can pitch at the high level he had last year another good value.

I am the King of Middling Middle Relievers!

With no SEA this year, I knew it was likely that I'd get two of my top four. I hated to steal two from Mookz, but in the end convinced myself that Davis was the better option than Beltre - we'll see if that pans out. After that, my list was just pillaged. I figured with as many options as I had at SP, I'd let cmh keep Volquez, and thought I could snag at least one of Dickey/Gallardo/Wilson/Young later (didn't want to touch Garza). That didn't work out so well, and all I ended up with was an injured Brandon McCarthy.

Plenty of RP option this year. Would have been nice to land O'Day or Benoit. Probably should have taken one of them over Uehara. I think I should have taken Mark Lowe over Grilli, he's going to be a holds monster. Very happy with Dyson, that sinker is sick and he'll be a pleasant surprise at RP. Still have about 10 guys I view as roster-eligible between exclusives and draftables, which means my team is probably decidedly average.

I wasn't too keen on it myself.

Do the O's have even a single player that didn't come from Texas? :dunno:

I was surprisingly really happy with the last few rounds of my draft starting with Dioner Navarro. I kept wanting to pull the trigger with 3 other teams having rights to him. I think he will wind up winning the larger share of the split in Chicago. He's the better hitter and not a complete liability behind the plate. I can also see days that he fills in at DH against lefties. He can rake pretty well when given a good amount of at bats like he had in 2014 with Toronto. Makes for a nice platoon with Vogt for me at catcher.

James Loney is a guy I would have definitely missed in previous seasons. I guess the dodgers and redsox just flat out don't need him anymore. Hes nothing special but solid depth.

Same with Melvin Upton and Carl Crawford. was surprised to get them. As far as I know Upton is the starting center fielder in San Diego and in limited at bats last year, showed improved numbers from his Atlanta days. Crawford is just an Ethier trade away from providing some nice value as a guy who can still hit 10+ homers and steal 15 bags. Will ethier be traded? sounds like he would be far easier to trade than C.C., so i'll keep my fingers crossed. Even if they bust they figure to see little time in my starting lineup.

But drafting for tampa this year, the theme seemed to be tons and tons of viable depth but little in terms of top end star power. No Price, Longoria is in decline, missed Wade Davis, Kevin Kiermaier is insane defensively but his offense numbers are not any type of fantasy dream....

should be an interesting season. Need to see how the supplemental shakes out and i'm sure i'll be playing the add/drop game with starting pitchers to fit in all my mediocre shared depth.

I really struggled 8-11. Had two spots I really needed to fill and was not able to do so. Hopefully I can grab those spots in SD.

Just looked again. Maybe 3 or 4 spots needed.

Overall happy and can't wait to start the season !!!

Loses:

Knew I lost Price as soon as Guardbum and WhiteWonder rolled higher than me.

Had to pick between getting Lester & Gonzalez or Cespedes & Gonzalez or Beltre (depending on what Mora did if I took Cespedes). I think I made the safest choice as my exclusive pitching quality dropped so much after losing out on Price.

So with that it sucked I lost Cespedes and Beltre but it was bound to happen. Also missed out on Ramirez, Lackey Uehara and Kimbrel (who I really wanted this year). I missed out on Valencia as a backup as well because well...didn't even have him on my list as Guardbum had mentioned.

Wins:

Lester and A-Gon were my 2 most important picks. Pretty psyched I grabbed Miller this year and also stole Melancon again, got him in the 5 round last year I think.

Other good pickups were V-Mart, Rich Hill (who I'm hoping pitches for Oakland like he did the end of last year when he was with Boston) and Pierzynski, who I hope gets more playing time than he is projected too.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with my draft so far. Have a few holes to fill in the sup draft and maybe a trade or two.

Good luck everyone!

Was surprised I ended up with one of my top 2 (Heyward, Miller) the way the draft order shook out. Getting Miller gave me 6 high quality starters and Joe Kelly as a 7th if he wins the spot in Boston. The first round wiped out a lot of my top options - Heyward, Pujols, Rasmus, & Lackey. Having said that though, I did not have another potential target picked by another team in rounds 2-7. That either tells me I was very lucky and I could get a lot of my remaining targets (Peralta, Beltran, Brandon Moss, Jordan Waldon, and Peter Bourjols) or the remaining players on my list were crap. I am leaning toward the latter.

I only had one non exclusive stud to choose from (Grienke) and had to roll better than Ted and Chad. No luck there and my less than stellar pitching staff will suffer for it.

Other ones that hurt were Joe Smith to Zero. I got greedy by taking O'Day and thinking I could double up with Smith in the next round.

I was waiting for Burt to take either Simmons OR Aybar, not both of them back to back. That stung.

I also let Kendrys sit out there too long and cmh took him a round before I slated him for.

Walden, Napoli, Kazmir, and K-Rod were others that I wasn't too happy about losing.

Other than that, I had a great time! I love the dynamics of this league and the all the strategy that goes into it.
