TD Ryan2 314 Posted January 16, 2017 Don't make it mandatory then. It's a waste for many kids. math is a waste for some kids gym is a waste for some kids art is a waste for some kids writing is a waste for some kids After "basic" education is achieved... each kid's education should be custom... to fit what that kids is good at (and likes). No, we don't have the resources for this but it is a perfect example of how technology is advancing way beyond our current systems and infrastructures. Consumers no longer shop at Sears, the ordinary story with ordinary things for ordinary people, they find EXACTLY what they want on the internet and buy it from a specialist or highly reviewed/reputable source. Today's school is Sears but the kids are growing up in a world where the niche' and deep expertise is favored.
mmmmm...beer 691 Posted January 16, 2017 Minnesota has some of the best schools in the country. Washington unfortunately does not (K-12, it's got some good collidges). I'm not sure why, it's the biggest failing of the constant Democratic administrations here IMO. Where the fock you live again Worms? May be time to have a beer with yo liberal ass. I need to replace a watch battery; took it to a jeweler who I've used before and she wouldn't do it for this particular watch. She referred me to the Sears at a local mall and said to ask for "Hawk" (maybe "Haq", dunno). Word is that he'll work on any watch. Who knew, Sears!

Have you been to a Sears lately? It's like walking in to the 80's. Hawk has probably worked there for 40 years.

I sometimes park by it because it is easy to find a spot, then just walk through. Scary that it is still in business. I feel sorry for the people who work there. Seems like retail hell. I agree completely, non-specialized retailers like Sears, Wal-Mart and Target are doomed. Specialized retailers like Block Buster, Circuit City, and Borders bookstore is where it is at.
