I remember as a kid in Indiana we had a pastor so old school strict that when my sisters youth group went on a canoeing trip they wern't allowed to wear shorts. So focking stoopid. I spent many years in the men's clothing biz and I'm still a stickler for proper attire when the occasion calls for it. But, IMO, normal Sunday service is no longer one of those occasions. But for sure shorts and sandals have no place in a church service. If a church in a beach town frowns on people wearing shorts and sandals, they won't last long.
