SenatorRock 708 Posted October 4, 2018 I don't listen to The Lumineers but I do remember their Hey Ho song from 5 or so years ago. Somehow I stumbled across one of their videos recently (Sleeping on the Floor) and it led me to discover their creative piece of art titled "The Ballad of Cleopatra". Long story short they released an album, Cleopatra. Over the course of several months they put out videos for 4 of the songs that were tied together in a non chronological story. Of a female taxi driver that the lead singer of the band met one random night, and her story of love and regrets over the decades. A year later they released a 24 minute video telling the entire story in order, basically 4 music videos back to back. Here is an article describing the individual pieces and whole story together https://www.baeblemusic.com/musicblog/12-19-2016/our-theory-for-the-lumineers-video-trilogy-cleopatra-angela-and-sleep-on-the-floor.html First video I watched: (no idea how I found it, probably heard the song on a tv show and looked it up. the video reminded me of a time, place, and girl that is tattooed on my soul. I was hooked and watched the rest of the videos in the series) Second video:

SenatorRock 708 Posted October 4, 2018 Full 24 minute Ballad of Cleopatra (I know, gay as fock. I just appreciated the creativity that went into all of this and figured I would share it with strangers)
Herbivore 1,123 Posted October 4, 2018 Me and Mrs listen to Lumineers radio quite a bit on Pandora. All those songs are great, didn't know about the Ballad thing...cool.

Big Guy 1,412 Posted October 4, 2018 I've liked them a little bit for a few years, but they reek of Hipsters to me, and that small lot is overflowing already. Even though they have a great sound, they're too much like Kings of Leon, Mumford & Sons, etc. for me. I value originality in both art & music so I probably will never have the patience to get into them. I'm still having the time of my life discovering amazing Classic Rock bands that I've overlooked. Blue Oyster Cult is that very band I'll be scouring over the upcoming days, weeks, months, years.

naomi 356 Posted October 6, 2018 Pandora plays those for me with the exception of Angela; hadn't heard it. I think I've actually thought of sharing their music here but figured it's probably chick music to guys

Personally I think the Lumineers tap into more visceral, spontaneous, organic emotion somehow, and the other two can lean a bit pretentious/too caught up in their own vibe. Some of their songs bore me quick, but when they're good, it's full
