Fried pickles, they weren’t on the menu so I would go make them and taught the cook how to make them.  About a month later they were on the menu and had my name on them

It only seemed a problem when I would mushroom stamp their car, especially if it’s been hot and I’ve been sweating

Yes,in fact I was such a regular I basically had my own stool and my nickname was Norm.

I’ve mostly worked from home for the past 20 years so I mostly never felt the need for a place to stop at on my way home.  Travel was a little different; I tended to stay at the same hotels when I went to common cities so the bartenders there got to know me.

One local exception was a few years that I did work in an office, there was a micro brewery 1/2 mile from work.  Occasionally we would go for after work activities, and one day I overheard the brewers discussing FF.  I got to talking to them and eventually went in a few times a week.  The founder was originally from the UK and after I had gone a bit regularly, as I was cashing out, he asked if I’d like a “splash.”  Hmm???  Tell me more.  Basically he’d fill your glass about 1/2 way for free.  Pretty cool policy.  I mostly went in for one beer (I’m mostly keto after all) which became more like 1.5 beers.  They had an orange IPA, about 8.5% alcohol, still one of my favorite beers of all time.  I miss that place. :cheers:
