Band review King Crimson

Recommended Posts

King Crimson. Out on tour.

Damn they are old.

3 monster drum kits- at the front of the stage.

No photos- or you will be ejected.

Its a band from way back. I think Frip is in his 70s? This is their last American tour.

The entire crew are focking high maintenance. You would think they were selling out arenas.

The movie Mandy made me want to check this band out but I don’t know where to start.

Are you working where they are playing?

I can't imagine paying to see 70-year-olds do anything.

The album “In the Court of the Crimson King” is all I've ever heard of there's, and is, I believe, their opus.

I think that’s the one that got a lot of airtime in the movie I mentioned. Mandy was an awesome film btw. Nick Cage and it was trippy af.

I've only heard it once. My dad played it while we were smoking a bowl once. Very prog rock as I recall. I certainly don't remember it making an impression.

I've never seen King Crimson, but have seen Tony Levin a few times when he's played with Peter Gabriel.  Him using his "funk fingers" is pretty cool.

The album Discipline was my intro to them.

Song Indiscipline:

[Verse 1]
I do remember one thing
It took hours and hours but..
By the time I was done with it
I was so involved, I didn't know what to think
I carried it around with me for days and days..
Playing little games
Like not looking at it for a whole day
And then, looking at it
To see if I still liked it
I did!!

[Verse 2]
I repeat myself when under stress
I repeat myself when under stress
I repeat myself when under stress
I repeat myself when under stress
I repeat-
The more I look at it
The more I like it
Heh, I do think it's good
The fact is..
No matter how closely I study it
No matter how I take it apart
No matter how I'll break it down
It remains consistent
I wish you were here to see it!!
