easilyscan 1,136 Posted yesterday at 02:21 AM Gold and silver have surpassed major plateaus. HellToupee 2,450 Posted 20 hours ago Quote BREAKING: US natural gas prices extend gains to +40% on the day, now on track for one of the largest daily gains in history. Natural gas prices are now up +240% since January 16th. That's like gas prices rising from $3.00/gallon to $7.20/gallon in 5 trading days. easilyscan 1,136 Posted 17 hours ago Quote Natural gas prices are now up +240% since January 16th. If those prices hold, people are going to be in for one hell of a surprise when they see their bills next month. I recall something similar happening during the winter of 2008-2009 (the winter that Oil shot up to $150 a barrel and other commodities like NG followed suit Being from progressive Minnesota, I know utility companies are required to work with people who can't pay their bills. Translation: Those who 'can' will pick up the tab That's why I call this rally in NG BS! The United States is to natural gas, what the Middle East is to oil. The skyrocketing price isn't because there's a shortage, it's only because of this giant ridge of high pressure from Siberia that's making it bitterly cold throughout the country & increasing usage. When I was buying silver coins in 2017, the price of silver was between $15 and $20 I noticed that the most recent high was around $40 in 2008 or 2009 At the time I thought if it ever got back up to $40, I'd be happy with my Investment. People arent paying these spot prices on their natural gas utility bill. Some of high prices make their way to you and i indirectly, but the price you pay for natgas used in your house doesnt swing with market swings like the gasoline you put in your car does with oil swings. It's possible things have changed since then, but my bill jumped dramatically when NG spiked back in 2009. Up until that winter, I never had a NG bill as high as $100, & it was up to $150 the following month. Around $180 a month after that. They even had an article in the local paper. Those that lived in older less efficient homes, whose bill might be around $150 in a bitter cold month, were up to $400 in some cases.
