So the camera that's used to call the balls and strikes are different than the ones to replay?

Good question, I’m not sure. I thought it looked pretty cool though. Was decided fast.

Yeah, it's pretty much what they have for tennis.  Makes sense to use that.  I heard on MLB Radio last week that the robot umpires literally miss 7% of the pitches.  They don't even see them and fail to make a call, so the human umpire has to make the call.  On top of that, the robots are 97% accurate on calls they do make.  Human umpires are at 97.5% (on average).

Just leave baseball alone. Maybe get rid of televising games and just have in person or news coverage or radio broadcasts of the action.

Do that and it’s so long baseball. Not sure you can have a professional league at the level of the NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB without TV contracts.

I'm just half kidding. It just seems everyone enjoyed baseball for like 100 years and now I just see so much griping about it because of technology.

Every sport has been affected by technology, for good and worse. Times have changed a lot and baseball doesn’t relate as much. It doesn’t match the lack of attention spans the average person has. I love watching the Cubs but find all other games boring besides the playoffs.

MLB should use laser standardized strike zones at the very least. And it is not the umpires fault.  Wearing full gear with facemask, standing behind the catcher, pitchers throwing high 90s and the breaking off curves and sliders out of the zone. Makes it a difficult task.   And the umps all have their own version of strikes too.

The pitch to Abrams (at 1:05) in the video was just as low as this one, but called a strike...

At normal speed and with his bat at that angle, that is really a tough call for that umpire IMO...

You deleted your post of the definition after you posted.

It's subjective. You focking whine about baseball to no end.
