The following week after Trump destroyed her at the third debate the polls reverted all that back.  They were wrong because they all still had Hillary winning by a decent amount.  But the movement in the data told me Trump was going to win.  And I said so at the time.

I actually agree with your overall point here and made a very similar point recently, I’m not a big fan of polls overall either, but one time they can provide insight is changes within the same poll, such as the decreasing support for Israel among Republicans.

Ironically, after I made that comment is literally when Strike made the comment about not believing polls “pretty much EVAH.”  So looks like you agree with me and disagree with Strike here.
