The problem, like most things now, is that's it's become SO political no serious discussion can be had.    It's a discussion that needs to be had - even if it's all natural, we can't stop it, etc. we need to still acknowledge that it's a thing and make plans for how it could effect the coasts and population migration.   The problem is one side doesn't want to hear a thing about it and will yell until they are blue in the face nothing is going on and the other throws extreme scenarios and solutions and thinks the sky is falling.

You are free to not read the narrative, look at charts and articles, and decide for yourself too.   Most of the time when people use the nebulous "they", it's in reference to their political opponents, the media, etc..   

We used to at least have some respect for people who are experts in their field and turn to them for information.  Now everybody is an expert online and instead of listening to climatologists, virologists, and the like we are turning to random Tweets and politicians.   Or are you referring to a different "they"?
