The Guardian: Why Are Black Rappers Aligning Themselves With The (Political) Right?

Still not enough of them, though. They still all mostly vote in one giant block. Somewhere around 96% always vote Democrat..

Many might not vote Republican, but many might sit it out.

Stacey Abrams would be the Governor of Georgia now, TWICE over, if she had secured the black male vote. Now you'll say that's Georgia after all, that's a bit different than the demographic breakdown nationally. But you don't need a huge number to swing the election. Trump didn't win by very much in 2016, and both college and non college educated white women were seen as a major difference maker.

Think of it as a collective of voting blocks that will sit it out or simply vote against Biden out of pure self preservation. ( They have to see prices at the gas pump, their rent bill and at the grocery store all the time. They have to see how the lockdowns damaged their children beyond repair every single day)

Some black votes.

Some suburban women voters

Some military voters ( and the implied law enforcement vote)

Pro Life Democrats ( 15-22 million strong in America by projection)

Working class minority voters

Hispanic/Latino voters

New "single issue voters" ( new gunowners who are now Pro 2A, those against abortion extremism, those angry about lies about 15 dollar widespread minimum wage and "student loan forgiveness", those who are angry that nothing was done for "climate change", etc, etc)

Asian voters

Some parents ( 70 percent of all American adults are parents) simply as single issue voters based on the lockdowns, COVID "response", LGBT push into schools, trans sports controversy, etc, etc)

Many over public safety

Specific career niches ( gas and oil jobs, first responders in general, small business owners who were burned and looted out, residents working with the public in Big Blue Cities who are watching illegal immigrants flood and take over their areas and neighborhoods, etc, etc)

You don't need the entire black vote, you just need enough of them to sit it out. They might hate Trump, but they'll despise Biden enough to not want any of it at all.

Biden loses ground with working-class Black, Latino voters

One of the main reasons President Biden is struggling in polls against former President Trump is his glaring underperformance with a constituency that has long been overwhelmingly Democratic: non-white voters without a college degree....As Democrats have made major gains with suburban and upper-middle-class voters since Trump's political ascendance, they've been losing support among blue-collar voters.

Pundits have focused heavily in recent years on white, working-class voters who changed their allegiances from former President Obama to Trump — and have made up a key part of the new GOP coalition. But Democrats have lost significant ground among their non-white counterparts as well, turning a political weakness into a major headache heading into 2024. The slippage is occurring even as Trump, the GOP's standard bearer, is facing an unprecedented trifecta of indictments in the run-up to the 2024 election. In the New York Times/Siena poll released last week, Biden failed to win majority support from non-white voters who hadn't graduated from college.

His lead over Trump with this once-heavily Democratic constituency is just 16 points (49%–33%). In 2020, Biden dominated Trump with these voters, winning by an overwhelming 48-point margin, according to an analysis by the Democratic data firm Catalist. Obama won non-white working-class voters by a whopping 67-point margin in 2012. Between the lines: Many of these voters are moderates, not progressives — especially when it comes to the polarizing cultural issues that Republicans are increasingly focused on.

Ruy Teixeira, an elections analyst at the American Enterprise Institute, flagged several key issues dragging down Democratic support with non-white working-class voters, based on recent polling.....Teixeira notes that the progressive worldview that racism is systemic in our society, rather than coming from individuals with racist views, is broadly unpopular among the non-white working class. He adds that debates over transgender rights also divide Democrats along class and educational lines. Crime is another major factor: Working-class non-white voters feel the impact of crime in their communities most directly and favor more punitive policies than their left-wing counterparts. Non-white working-class voters are not satisfied with the state of the economy....Opposition to Biden's environmental agenda — the view that Democrats are pushing the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy too quickly — is a consistent theme with working-class voters of all backgrounds.

I don't know why anyone aligns themselves with the left these days. Glad black folks are seeing through the BS.

Really big dumbfuks who have been brainwashed by a government-controlled media and institutions they ignorantly believe are indelendant.  Universities are mouthpieces of leftist authoritarians.  Big Tech is the gateway for access to all information, on-line commerce, and social media is also in cohorts with the government elitists as well as having a ridiculous amount of access to all kinds of personal information.   Constant exposure to the propaganda and very limited access to alternative media has grossly distorted their thinking leading them to very irrational conclusions.

The whole OP hitpiece is a perfect example of this, with numerous associations to any independant thinking to white supremacy.  Only dumbasses like Tim would swallow up such BS.

It's a great explanation. All institutions are controlled by the uncritical, brainwashed left. Hopefully the sunlight penetrates through, something these rappers could help with enormously.

Diversity is our strength.

It has nothing to do with diversity, they are capitalists and that is how they vote. End of thread.

These Black voters could determine Biden’s fate in a pivotal swing state

....Lang, the founder and executive director of the Milwaukee group BLOC – Black Leaders Organizing for Communities.....“There is no way to win a statewide election that doesn’t run through the Black community,” Lang reminded nearly two dozen BLOC organizers about to hit the pavement. “Understanding the dynamics that Wisconsin is an incredible battleground state and is a swing state. What happens in Milwaukee can impact the rest of the state, which ultimately can impact the rest of the country.....No pressure.”

The pressure, of course, is enormous. Wisconsin is one of the battleground states that settles close presidential elections and Black turnout in Milwaukee is a pivotal piece of any Democratic path to victory. CNN recently visited Milwaukee as part of a new project designed to track the 2024 campaign through the eyes and experiences of voters in key areas. It was clear from three days spent in the predominantly Black neighborhoods on the city’s north side that President Joe Biden faces a daunting enthusiasm problem among voters essential to his reelection hopes.

Wisconsin swung from Donald Trump in 2016 to Biden in 2020, and with the former president the front-runner for the GOP nomination in 2024, the Badger State could again be forced to choose between the two men. Trump won it by just shy of 23,000 votes – and a drop in Milwaukee’s Black turnout was a major factor. Biden carried the state by just shy of 21,000 votes four years later, when better showings in Madison and the suburbs helped offset flat turnout in Milwaukee’s Black precincts.

.....And there is lots of this: “Most people don’t even want to go vote,” Shanice Jones told the room. She said people tell her over and over they are tired of promises made but not kept. “Then they talk about on the news how it was less voter turnout. Uh, duh. Why? Because you all ain’t doing what you said you were going to do.”.... But would the president have a Black turnout problem if the election were today?....“Yes, he would,” Johnson told us. “He would have a big problem.....All these candidates come by and sell us these promises,” she said in an interview. “You know, say, you got to vote for me to save democracy. And then we don’t always see them again. And so, folks get more and more turned off from the political process.”

I'll bet you any amount of money an overwhelming majority of blacks will still vote democrat, in line with what we've seen for years. I swear to God, Republicans have been talking about this flip happening for decades now. It is NEVER going to happen. Pander to a group we can actually flip, this is a waste of focking time.

Also, why is it a good thing if black drip rappers are voting for our party? Huh?
