I think equal opportunity is good. Obviously it will never be completely possible as people have different resources ($$$) available to them. We can’t all afford to go to Harvard. But the idea that everyone should have an opportunity is laudable.

But equal outcomes? No, that’s crazy. I don’t think anyone really supports that, but if they do, they aren’t getting my support.

Opportunities? Yes Outcomes? No.

But there is a wide swath in the middle.  And we make concessions towards equity today.  If you're poor, there is govt assistance that rich people don't get.  I don't see anything wrong with that.  It's not guaranteeing an outcome, but helping people achieve an outcome because they were born under sh1t circumstances.

That's the thing tho...people want the same outcome for all, govt assistance or not. People who get govt assistance want to be rich, and they want the rich people to be poor.

My Wife and I donate time & money to local food banks, shelters, I donate meat from Hunts, etc. I will help anyone out who's down on their luck. We've all been there. 

However I will not tolerate a freeloader, a thief or anyone looking for a handout. I don't feel sorry for any of these people that I post. There's more than enough help out there if you need it, they don't.

Well most people want to be rich, but I've never heard a poor person say that they want rich people to be poor like them.  Have you?

They believe that it's jus not fair they are rich and if they were poor they'd understand "real" struggle.

Well that's kinda different.  Sure it would be great if rich people we're such douche bags and understood the struggle.  Many do, some don't.

And the Trump thing, that's just cause people hate Trump.

I seriously doubt that any significant number of poor people want everyone to be poor just like them.  That just sounds like nonsense.
