I'm not surprised he did well, but I am surprised the bears oline played so well. Or maybe the Washington Dline was just off. It was totally unexpected. But as you inferred, who the fock knows what will happen game to game. I forgot who it was, but this one dude on xm radio, I think it was on MadDog radio. A guy had a segment he would would do opposite picks for the nfl. He would pick games and with each game he would make a strong case why a team should win the game and why the other team should lose, and then his pick for that game would be opposite his own argument. He would go through a bunch of games like that. It was pretty entertaining and with the NFL, it kind of made sense. If someone gets pissed off easily at things, they shouldn't play fantasy football. That said, sometimes you just can't help it.

kilroy69 1,095 Posted October 7, 2023 I was very impressed in his last 2 games though. Not gonna lie. If he can read coverages along with being that fast he would be a beast. He just has not shown this form at all in his career. I do not like to see anyone in the division other than the lions win and I was literally betting on the bears to lose last night. Thought it was gonna be a cakewalk for Was. I literally knew on the opening drive I was fuckedd. I do not think I have ever seen him get the ball out that fast or stand in the pocket that well. They were against apparently terrible Ds but man he more than passed the eye test with a different game script than he had for the first few

They were against apparently terrible Ds but man he more than passed the eye test with a different game script than he had for the first few I put a few bucks on Washington as well. It's just one of those games. The looked empty and not ready to play. Terrible game by them. But nice to see Fields getting rid of the ball a bit quicker and being a little more decisive and accurate. The Bears have Minnesota next, then the Raiders, then Chargers, Saints, Panthers and your dreaded Lions. Minnesota ain't all that, same with the Raiders. Chargers have the offense but their Defense is nothing to write home about. These are middle of the road teams. Not terrible but not top of the league. If Fields keeps it up through those games then I think this is not just an aberration. I think Fields may just be the real deal. Saints defense will be the bigger challenge, then Panthers blah. So going into that Detroit game, Chicago should know where they sit with Fields I imagine. Are the Bears better than those middle of the road teams, or worse? If they lose them all, Fields and Eberflus could be done. Fields is making it interesting for Bears fans now.

This was found on the NFL scouting report (which I will admit generally summarizes things more than I'd like) Highly decorated and highly confident Division II quarterback with adequate NFL size but mechanical issues that need to be cleaned up. Bagent’s footwork can become erratic under pressure and his delivery is reminiscent of a shortstop’s throw to first base at times. He plays with a good feel for his offensive design and a willingness to attack all intermediate pockets of the field regardless of cover scheme. However, the decision-making and arm strength might not be good enough to beat the window-shopping defensive backs of the NFL. further to this a listing of his weaknesses Weaknesses Can dip below a three-quarter release point as a passer. Has had issues coming off of ill-advised throws and moving to the next read. Stares down targets, leading center field safeties to the throw. Footwork and ball placement fall apart when he starts rushing throws. Inconsistent decision-making when faced with blitzing fronts. Faced lower level of competition I personally am not as concerned about what the level of competition was where he played. but the 3/4 release point or lower would indicate he probably will get a lot of passes batted down at the line. the staring down of targets is also a concern. going back to his strenghs I like what I see in the tape I see a lot of what is listed below: Strengths Four-year starter with adequate frame and hand size. Capable of smooth, rhythmic footwork in setup. Access to a quick, efficient release. Patient to wait for routes to develop. Poised and confident making intermediate throws into zones. Plays with good feel for route concepts. Athletic enough to elude defenders and escape the pocket. so the bottom line is the kid needed some pro level coaching before he would be ready to play at the NFL level. if they cleaned up some of his mechanics I think there is a fair chance we have a player. lots of ifs there but I do think hes a player worth watching. I would not be surprised to see him put up some reasonable stats throwing the ball but if he still stares down his #1 target or throws below the 3/4 release point hes gonna get some INT's. You cannot do those things at the NFL level. but I am excited to see where he is in his development. wouldnt surprise me if he needs more time to clean this part of his game but we wont know until we see what he can do. I will agree based on what I have seen, he has more upside than is typical for a player drafted late in the draft (and he is undrafted)

It will likely be a shitshow of a game but the bears may well pull it off. I want the raiders to lose every game, brad holmes to swoop in and make an offer at the trade deadline for Adams and the lions to go ballistic.

The coaching showed how much tgey suck from the Bears' first offensive series of the game on. I don't think Bagant stares down his #1 as much as they are saying. I didn't watch the game yesterday as I live out of market, but I've seen him in the past go through progressions and I think all he needs is some time to get comfortable in the offense. This is an odd year for me as a fan. I either want Fields to be awesome 5 out of every 6 games, or to fall on his face and relegated to the bench and let go at the end of the year. He's doubtful to play in the next game against the Raiders. Let's see what Bagant looks like with a full week f practice with the starters. He deserves the chance. Fields has had nearly 2 years now. And we still don't know about the guy. So frustrating. So let it either be Bagant or Drake May as the future of this team. Or both.

If he can not lock onto one guy he might be ok. He locked on to Moore once I saw and did not go through his progressions as Kemet ran a seam route wide open. Another he hit the easy throw to the underneath guy when both his underneath and his mid range guy was open/ The midrange guy was 5 yards down the field. Rookie mistakes I know and maybe ones he fixes in the film room.

I fully expected they would resolve some of these issues (but not all) the throwing mechanics are always a concern and if delivering lower than a 3/4 release point its only a matter of time til he starts having passes batted at the line (and sometimes picked) but yeah its easy to do the lock on the WR thing at the college level because if you have a WR that can consistently create separation you wont ever be punished for that (and so will not correct the issue) at the pro level I'm sure with all of training camp this is likely one of the first things the coaches looked at correcting. as for the mechanics and footwork I never got to see what he looked like as I wasnt watching the game. I'll try to get a look but I have a busy week so there is the chance I wont get to it.

Ray_T 679 Posted October 18, 2023 either way, I dont think hes a bad player to grab and stash if you are in a deeper league. especially if its a 2 QB or superflex format. there is some upside there.

Yeay. I have him in a superflex dynasty league where I have Watson And Richardson as my "starting" two QBs. I actually played Ridder and PJ Walker last week. Now it will be Ridder and Bagent. Ray_T 679 Posted October 18, 2023 wow, Watson and Richardson.... your team is the walking wounded. Now that Richardson is injured, I actually think people will now be surprised at how good minshew will be as well. hes an underrated player. but this thread isnt about him so i wont speak to this any further. good luck to you. from the look of your injury situation that team may be in some trouble for the next couple weeks due to QB injury
