MNF Discussion: Packers at Raiders - Wk5

Recommended Posts

I played against DJ Moore and Chase (101 points combined), I hope Jones does sit and Love throws to Watson all night... I need 35 to pull off the win.

Fine by me. Was surprised to see the Raiders favored ? Hoping they can keep the game close & give Jacobs a chance to shine.

I sat Fields in lieu of Love myself. With no AJ, I’m hoping for a similar outcome.

Vegas -2

Under 45.5

Lots of punts. Might be boring til the 4th quarter.  Love didn't do well last week against Lions pressure, which will probably be Raiders gameplan with Jones out, and AJ Dillon stinking up the joint. Blitz that fool.

Green Bay was poorly prepared on a short week. We’ll see what a long week looks like.

LeFleur and the Packer’s organization need to find a QB that they trust to throw the ball downfield. They obviously don’t have the confidence in Love to be a passer as evidenced by their extreme conservative play calling. It’s a passing league, so if they won’t pass they can’t win. That simple. 57 yards passing in the first half ain’t gonna cut it in the NFL. Maybe HS though

Agreed. Some of Jimmy G's passes.... that 25 yarder near the dirt the Wr had to scoop it.?.  Is Jimmy's arm really as weak as some say? Sure looked like it on that play.

I wouldn’t be so critical of Jimmy G’s arm, which has produced 126 yards passing and a tuddy. As opposed to the GB QB’s 56 yards and an int. After watching Love’s past 6 quarters I’m beginning to wonder if Love is ready for prime time. He’s got another 30 minutes to prove me wrong.

Not trying to poke holes... heck I bet on the Raiders. But when I saw that pass I was reminded of people who question his arm strength. However, he can obviously go through progressions really well. Years of NFL experience.

Something Love probably isn't great at yet with so few starts.

That was a horrible offensive series in the red zone by the Packers. Like I said, if LeFleur doesn’t have a QB that he trusts to throw the ball, he needs to get one. He obviously doesn’t trust Love.

I put some on GB. May be my first loss of the week. But I haven't watched any of this game til now.

To be fair, Green Bay is doing their best to make the Raiders' secondary look like the best ever.

Love facing the 27th ranked pass D. Now 2 int. I guess that’s why LeFleur doesn’t want him to throw the ball. Point made.

Love doesn't seem to go through progressions much. Wherever he looks first, that's usually where the ball goes. Makes it easier for defense.

Rookie QBs share that problem. Brock Purdy keeps making that mistake time and time again. Sometimes it’s just the singer and not the song.

This game is ova. The Packer D is tired. Love unable to sustain any drives. Packer management needs to evaluate whether if the expiration date on LeFLeur as the HC is about due. The play calling lacked any real imagination, much like last weeks game v Detroit. If you play fantasy then you know that Love’s fantasy numbers have decreased for five straight weeks.

As Perry Mason might have said….no further questions your Honor. I rest my case.

Seemed like a game that would come down to the final possession.  It was.

Love is pretty crappy.  I get that this is his first real go of it as a starter, but I figured that he wouldn't be straight trash.  Other than a fluke, looking at the remainder of their schedule, the Packers may not win another game if Love keeps playing like this.  There's no way they bring him back next year unless he gets a lot better.

Too much emphasis on the running game put Love in third and long time and time again. Predictable  play calling. LaFleur either lets Love be a pass first QB or gets himself another QB

I'm thinking this is the route they take next April.

Before the season started, I thought the NFC North was going to be the most balanced and toughest division.  I was right, but wrong.  It is the most balanced... there's going to be 3 teams in that division with less than 5 wins.  It will be the toughest because they'll be 3 teams vying for the #1 pick in the division alone.  The Packers, Vikings, and Bears may combine for less wins that the Lions... how weird is that?  It sounds so backwards!!

I'm fine with anything as long as Carolina loses out. :)

Bears and Minnesota are playing for a top 3 pick this week possibly. Although that's a long way off.

They're not going 0-17 this year, lol....with all 4 of the AFC South games remaining on their schedule.  Plus they still have the Falcons and Saints to play again and have both the Bears and Packers left to play.  As bad as the Panthers are, that's 8 games against teams that are similar to them.  They may end up with 3 to 5 wins.

5 I would be shocked. 2 or 3 possibly. I heard one of their local radio shows yesterday with a couple guys who cover the team and they are talking about possibilities of them blowing up the team to get draft picks for a couple of their valuable players that most likely won't be around when it does come their time for winning.

And sure that's just all talk but it's what the Bears and other teams have done in the past. They aint going anywhere this year or next. They could get first or second round picks for Brian Burns and Jaycee Horn possibly. I don't think they would want to give up Taylor Moton as he's on the oline. But that said, If I were in their shoes and not having a first round pick next year I would think about trying to get a first rounder some how to have control on a rookie contract for the next 4-5 years to build around Bryce Young. They only have 6 total picks next year. 1 in each round starting with the second.
