That's the way it was 40 years ago. Not the exact percentage. But, "Old and stuffy people are conservative, young people are liberal" (generally).

Also, most everyone on the PLANET would agree that as people get older, they get wiser.

So it must still be true - you don't have to look up any stats ever again.   

I guess you can still debate if it makes you "wise" or not, but I don't think it's coincidence that it's a very similar stat when you look at breakdowns by age and religious beliefs.   It goes from 40-45% when younger to 60-65% as you get older.   Talking about attendance, importance of religion in their life, etc.
