Case in point on the disconnect from the public on these issues:

CBS News did a poll over the weekend:

Voters were asked:

1.)how much priority they want Trump to put on certain issues. On the topic of "Lower prices of goods and services"- It was "High Priority" for 79% of respondents.

2.)  "Do you favor or oppose the US placing new tariffs on goods imported from other countries?" 52% they favored it.

3.) "Do you think new tariffs on goods from other countries would generally make the prices of things you buy..."- 59% said "Higher"

 

So according to the survey a majority number want lower prices, they want tariffs, AND they think those tariffs will make prices higher. Again- a strong disconnect.

Follow up question: the viable alternatives to fossil fuels- nuclear, solar, wind etc. are all obviously quite different but they have one thing in common: they all require large government funding to subsidize them at least at first. While you’re opposed to government “forcing things” (which I assume means restrictions on fossil fuels) are you also opposed to funding? And what if China makes a major push towards nuclear energy and is government funded? Should our position remain “we’re gonna wait until the market does it”? 

If it requires government funding then we cant do it.

It will only fail if that is the requirement.

None of that supports your claim of the current economy being the worst in the lower classes’ lifetime.   In fact a quick search shows several articles claiming the % living paycheck to paycheck was even higher than that in the years following the 2008 crash.

I posted things in this thread where I pointed out- using factual polls of people- that there was a disconnect between reality and perception of the economy. I even pointed out it would probably not help Democrats because people were voting against the reality because perception always trumps reality. You posted videos of YouTubers in their basement as evidence.

Then you continually- and very obtusely- ignored the context of what I was saying to keep characterizing it incorrectly and continually say things about "Your party" (which i assume you are directing at me personally and not a royal you this time- but again we know you lie about that sh!t as well) and not getting it when the only person who doesn't get anything here is you. Yeah, its not unusual...people were like this back in 2006 when I told them the economy was barreling toward  crash and laid out the reasons.  Few people had the capacity to understand that either; though kudos to sux for all these years later pointing out I was correct on every point.

Now that liberals notably folks on that video I posted, are lamenting that they never understood just how bad it was or what was really happening to people, but get it now....
