Also worth noting that Mayo’s comment was essentially in response to Kraft saying  he was “colorblind.”

Being the first black coach in the whitey Boston area is certainly a big deal.

I do get a kick out of the GC posters that will claim they “don’t see color.”  They’re usually the same people that will say “I wonder why the media didn’t show the name or picture of the person charged with this crime?”

They're also the ones that see black pilots and black doctors and question if they are qualified.

I’d be more concerned about really short ones.

Geek club:  you don’t need to stand up for blacks, they can do it themselves

Also the Geek club, after a newly named black head coach stands up for himself:  JEROD MAYO IS A RACIST!!!

Geek Club: it's racist to give black people preference, they can earn their own jobs

Also geek club: black people aren't qualified to be head coaches, pilots, doctors, go to college, etc.

As a relief to Detroit fans, Ben Johnson has taken himself out of consideration for the final two HC vacancies in Washington and Seattle. They're free to hire Aaron Glenn though. Please somebody take him.

All of you guys are just rambling on.

We don't need quotas.  Idc if there are 90% black coaches or 5%.

Money is on the line.  Success is on the line.  Pick the best guy for the job.

Mike Tomlin is one of the most successful black coaches.   He played at William and Mary then went right into coaching.

The HOFer Deion Sanders plucked guys from big schools with his name.  They finished last in the pac 12.  Yet he is put on a pedestal as a great coach for it.  Last.....LAST!  Yet...hype.

Good perspective here.   Acknowledges the historic racism against blacks and that diversity is a good thing, but also that you still need to work hard.  I will admit that Duke wrestling kinda sucks, but they don’t have any scholarships

I try to imagine how I might feel if people kept telling me...."its just too hard, you cant do it...but those people over there who look like that can.....they are just more lucky than you...."
