Same. I thought it was interesting when Larson said the 500 was the priority. I know they've spent time and money on getting ready for it but, to me, it's a luxury you can participate in but your full time job comes first. 

It's pretty cool that the boss would allow him to chase his dreams like that. He must feel Larson has a legit shot at winning.

I had most of this race recorded on DVR.  I was watching the Indy 500 and didn't get to this until it was well underway and it was pretty much too late to start swapping drivers by the time I realized it might help.

He was a bad owner and hardly ever showed up at the shop. Harvick roasted him last week.

I was thinking of playing that game again. I have a pretty good set-up for Xbox, with a seat, pedals, steering wheel, stick shift.

I picked up a used copy a few months ago. Won the championship today. Beat Larson by two points.

My PS5 set up is - the controller. I bounce off of everything and everyone. 

I'd like to see how much better I could drive with a setup like your's. I just don't have the touch with the controller to hold my line very well. I think a steering wheel would work better for me.

Because Travis is an Air Mobility base.....it doesn't host an intercept wing.

They have plenty of aircraft there that they could've used for the flyover while using considerably less fuel. 

ETA: I suppose it's possible they were already in the air, possibly heading to Travis, or somewhere else, for some reason or another. It just struck me as weird.

It's probably because tankers & cargo planes are boring compared to attack craft of any kind. Or....the airlift wing could just be busy......they do a lot of humanitarian aid hauling unlike MAC.

My setup(not sure what the PS5 equivalent would be for the Logitech---I XBox) - You definitely won't be bouncing off the walls and everything you have so much more control.  The little controllers just over react too much. I just set my personal best time at Michigan in qualifying.

Racing Wheel Stand I used to have the bigger GTLite, but it takes up too much space, it's a hassle to setup and takedown.  This stand is so much nicer.  I pull it out of the closet-unflod the pedals, pull up a chair and just go.

I was bummed to find out they killed the servers. I was trying to get good enough at holding my line to race on-line. Never got the chance.

I can justify dropping a couple hundred $ on a setup like yours. I can't justify dropping several hundred on a new set up, new gaming pc and iracing membership. 

I mean, it's fun and all, but I'm not that serious about it. 

Is the online cross platform? Mebbe we could trade some paint sometime.

I don't think they are cross platform, bummer.  We could have ganged up on other drivers.

Also, you are correct. I thought that track would be a dud after watching qualifying, but it turned out to be a great race. 
Look forward to watching it again next year.
