Even if you don't believe it to be true Christianity and it's teachings have a net positive on society.  Our core values that are still relevant today come from it. 

You're smart enough to know it isn't real but not smart enough to understand the positive impacts it has on society.  Just like every other atheist I've ever met.

Every thought coming from man can be called man made. No? Religions are like talking about morals. "Man made" religions are an interpretation of experiences. Unless they are just based on tricking people. And that's what a lot of people claim. 

But, religions are also close to morals. "Man made". Good vs. evil. Man made. 

You can say that a guy who shoots your wife dead is evil, but that's just man made thinking. But you believe it. So do I. We all make sense of reality in our own ways. We make them truths until we learn otherwise or that we get confirmed. We all have different experiences that we see as truth.
