The Beastie Boys were a boy band

Recommended Posts

Oh, and for any Beastie Boys fans, the two remaining members did a nice documentary a couple years ago.  On Apple TV IIRC.  Worth a watch.

Check your sarcasm meter. Needs recalibration.

Sorry, toots ... really didn't have time to grasp the nuance of the op, but I really don't give a flyin' fiddler's fock - I'm not gonna see my dum-dum boiz slagged as such, whether in jest or not.

No one is slagging the Ramones. Even the freaks around here don't seem to be that pathetic.

exactly, last show I saw was the Ramones, but im sure they were lip syncing

You're wrong almost as much as Tardcore Ripken.

I saw the Ramones 8 times in the 80's.  Zero chance they were lip synching or piping music in.  They played their songs so much faster than the record you'd sometimes have to wait for the hook to know which song it was.  And Joey messed up the lyrics all the time.

Ramones lip syncing...

🤣🤣🤣

Boyo, it's like we're the same person.

Except you're a tranny obsessed cultist while I'm a fit, reasonable lib.

But much love as always!

Jesus. The last show you went to was 30 years ago? That sucks.

I'm also jealous since I never got to see them.

Marky is still touring it was a month ago

You think that’s gotten better in the intervening 12 years? 😂

I love live concerts, but if it’s a big venue you have to accept that it’s likely somewhere between 50-99% prerecorded. The stakes and expectations are simply too high

Would you consider this a large venue? Not prerecorded.

Fock him, fock his pathetic wig(s), fock the sh1t he started with Joey on the Stern show, fock him citing the 60's hippies when arguing with John Lydon ... did i mention his ridiculous wigs?

His decrepit carcass is milking this sh1t 'til the last drop, and he's a Grade-A cumbag for carrying on the charade.

Richie was TONS better, and had a more authentic presence; felt more like one of the "bruddahs" than hippie refugee Marky.

FOCK HIM.

AND HIS WIGS.

I don’t care about any of that. It was a fun show. Since I never got to see them before it was definitely a positive experience for me.

Fair enough ...

... but, be that as it may, Marky is a fockin' tool - nay, check that, he's a Craftsman's Toolbox

Asswipe mutha fooker, fock him and the hippie credo he espouses ... jackoff tvvat.

Hell, why couldn't they have kept Clem Burke?

Marky is pure bilgewater.

Ummm, if Joey wasn't singing, it wasn't the Ramones. By that standard, I saw them too when Marky played with the Misfits at Warped and they did a greatest hits set of the two bands. Great, great show. But it wasn't the Ramones.

I accept that. They played nothing but Ramones songs. If I went and saw Queen with Adam lambert singing its wouldn’t be Queen but it would still be Queen.

This ^

Like going to see the walking corpse Ringo and saying you saw the Beatles.

btw, as much as I love Jerry Only (nee Caiafa), that Misfits redux with Dez and Marky was atrocious on so many levels.

Not for me.

Ramones? Rich kid Jews making believe they were Italian. I saw them a few times. Great shows. Joey Gave me a guitar pick. One of their more under appreciated efforts was Acid Eaters, a cover album they put out late in the groups career. Out of Time, a rolling stones song, stands out.

... as far as the Ramones go, the two main songwriters, John Cummings and Dee Colvin, were Irish and German, respectively.

Nice try, tho.

Ok,  Not all of them. They were from Forrest Hills Queens. One of the richest places in NYC.

did i say ALL OF THEM?

no, i said two (Johnny & DeeDee)

Johnny's father was a construction worker, and DeeDee was an army brat ... hardly the silver spoon schtick you're foisting here.

Joey and Tommy were Jewish, with Tommy's family being Hungarian refugees ... so even there we ain't talking the "priveleged" sh1t by any stretch.

Oof. My only complaint was the show was way too short. I coulda stayed in that pit for hours.

Meh, I have zero desire to see Jerry warbling "This Magic Moment", etc :dunno:

That said, I will allow that, in theory, Dez and Jerry were a great idea, but Marky can fock off ... again, Clem Burke or Rat Scabies woulda made that a premium project ... hell, even Robo or Googy over Marky.
