Furiosa flops at the box office

I was in because I'm a Tom Hardy fan.  By the time he was in Fury Road he had already been in inception, lawless, warrior, dark knight rises, and the drop to name a few. Even the tolerable 'This means war'... and the same year as Fury Road he starred in Legend and Revenant and was a recurring character on Peaky Blinders.

both leading roles were stars.

I also never saw the old movies :dunno:

Never saw them?!  Get off my lawn!  :D

The original started it all.  2 was good IIRC.  3 (Beyond Thunderdome) was a typical mid-80s shmaltzy movie, like Rocky 3, but likeable in its own way.

Then 30 years go by and Fury Road is made...

Anyway, like I said, it's clearly better than I gave it credit for.

Fury Road is awesome and a deserving continuation of the Mad Max saga.

Oh I know about them. The original I believe held the record for most profitable movie for a very long time. I just never bothered to watch them

The important thing that I learned from this thread was that Fury Road was a good movie.  I figured at the time it was yet another sad attempt to reboot an old franchise, with a woke attempt to make a woman (Charlize Theron) a gritty action hero.  Although I do respect Theron as an actress... anyway, I'll put that on the list to watch, then maybe check out Furiosa.

If you are checking out movies, you should check out Atomic Blonde with Charlie Theron as a sexy action hero.   Wowza!!!

Yes, she gets naked(in a ice bath no less) and Mr. F was one of the funniest bits of television I ever saw.   🤣

It was the directorial debut of the guy who did the John Wick movies, it's a blast.

Wait...it was the directorial debut of the guy who previously directed John Wick?  Wut?

He wasn't credited w/directing John Wick but he actually was the co-director along with Chad Stehelski

Pretty good movie. Not level of Fury Road but solid.

The crazy world that the guy who has made these movies has created is very cool, off the charts creativity. Action and the style he shoots them in also amazing.
