Nearly half a million working-age Massachusetts residents lack English proficiency

Biden's America:

The Boston Herald reported that the situation represents "another challenge for an economy that continues to lose many taxpayers to other states with lower taxes and cost of living."

The report, released by MassInc and UMass Donahue on Wednesday, found that an estimated 480,000 residents have limited English proficiency (LEP). This makes up approximately 10% of the state’s workforce. The data could be an undercount, considering that it stems from 2022 Census estimates.

I am not sure what point the OP is trying to make here.

Before any conclusions are drawn that Biden is responsible, one should ask:

How many of them were educated in Massachusetts?

How many of them are foreign born so English would not be their first language?

How many of them have jobs where English proficiency is not required to effectively do the job?

That’s a lot. And those workers are front line workers, that must interact with the populous to do their job.  More dysfunction visited upon the people from the elites.

This isn’t a surprise at all. None of my kids went through the public school system and I lived in a nice town. Some school systems just burning $$$ on ESL students. You can be educated if kids that want to excel are kept separate from the rabble

Massachusetts ranked fifth in the country for loss of gross income due to domestic migration in 2022.

domestic migration. I’m glad I got out of the state and at a nice profit. It’s a shame , besides the winter , MA was a great state to live in. Now it’s circling the toilet bowl

Even with all the crap happening living between NY/NJ-MA is a great place to live. It’s the lunatic fringe of politicians and our new arrivals ruining things
