Bo Pix - 4 INTs - 1st 2 games

Recommended Posts

all rookie QBs seem to not really be ready. Maybe the Patriots are right in holding back Drake Maye. I think CJ Stroud really messed people up by being so good as a rookie.

Also has the curtain has been pulled back on the wizard of payton?

Any rookie QB who does well is usually the exception, not the rule.

If I'm a GM who drafts a QB in the first round(usually that's cause your team sucks), I wouldn't let the coach start him for a year. Also, I don't think it's even fair to evaluate young QB's until they have had 8 games, then start the evaluations, with my time table being about 16 games.  So by the 24th start of their career you kind of know what you are going to get. In an optimal situation that would be their 3rd year in the NFL.

How about when a rookie QB plays relatively well in his 1st year (mac jones) and then the nitwit person doing the hiring (Belicheat)  gives him a Defensive Coordinator (Matty P) his 2nd year

Agree on half.  People are being a little too jumpy on rookie QBs.  They generally struggle.  People were just piling on foam in other thread.  But its way too early.

Dont agree that you sit them.  You only get 1 rookie contract.   They are all different situations.  Not every team has an established vet whos been there for years still playing.  Now yes if you have no weapons and no OL well thats just a dumb way to build it but if you suck that bad yes maybe dont throw them out there.  But QBs have to play.

Josh Allen was raw as hell and had a track guy as his number 1 his 1st year.  He worked through it for 2 years then became awesome.  Does he refine himself like that with no real game play?  Probably not.
