DangeRuss in consideration to start over Justin Fields week 7

Recommended Posts

The Justin Fields train may be getting derailed.

And even though the Steelers passing attack was rather anemic, Fields makes for a good fantasy QB.

And the question is why???!!?  Steelers are 4-2 with Fields.  And coming up against a Jets team that time and time again let Josh Allen escape contain last night. Fields has wheels comparable to Allen.  Wilson not as much so (anymore).  And you want Wilson to try to knock the rust off against the Jets?  Fields should start again this week at least.

Makes sense 🤷🏻

Because Tomlin is an idiot! He achieves slightly above meritocracy in spite of himself.

Wilson is a washed up has-been. There is NO future there. NONE!

Fields may be the future. That's yet to be determine. They need to find out! But no. Let's sit him and let the old guy play. Make no sense! Well, to Tomlin it might. He declared Wilson the starter from jump and he needs to prove he was right. Idiot.

If I were the Rooney's, I'd politely tell Tomlin no. You play the guy who might be our future, not the old guy cause you have something to prove.

This is stupid.

Fields has played pretty well for them.

Russell Wilson isn't the future, he's not even the present...

I'm not surprised.  he failed to get 160 yards passing in 4 of his 6 games.

I know the rush yards add to that, and that makes him a decent fantasy start, but I have to believe that even when playing poorly Wilson can beat that performance.

maybe, but if you brought him in for a cheap price and he agreed to come there, likely promises were made.

The team won 4 of 6 but they didnt win because of Fields great play. They won because the Defense was awesome.

I suspect the right move is to at least give Wilson a chance to show he deserves the starting job he was initially promised.   If Fields was throwing for 250-300 yards per game and getting those rush yards, the promise goes out the window, but 160 yards in 4 out of 6 games isnt outstanding no matter how good he is rushing the ball.   If Wilson doesnt perform then go back to Fields.   At the very least they need to see what they have in Wilson before sending him down the highway.

but to be clear, this formula (with fields) will not work forever.  teams will get a line on what they are doing (at least the good teams will) and limit his effectiveness.  and if the offense is good enough to move the ball against this tough D, the team wont be able to win unless the QB is better

As we barrel toward Washed-Up Russ starting, I hope that after a needless losing record this season, the Rooney's consider moving on from chronically slightly above average Tomlin.

10-7, 9-6, and worse with an early round trip home is not acceptable forever.

I would disagree, the Steelers seem very happy with that yearly outcome.
