cmh6476 1,021 Posted October 21, 2024 I'm changing the content of this thread. He hasn't been here in a day or two, and I don't want that to be because of me. I also was looking for a place that wasn't the other thread I started a couple weeks back; it was personal and it'll be there but some of it I'd rather just let go. To that point, things haven't gotten a lot better. My daughter is hyper focused on her pity and feeling sorry for herself and ragging on people who love her. She is probably working on getting an apartment, dealing with her license and getting her next car. But I'm not sure she has learned her lesson or ready to adjust her behaviors or how she treats other people. She is really acting like her entire family abandoned her, rather than acknowledging her own responsibility for the way things are. It's created an awful divide with me and my mom. Can't believe we would all turn our back on her, just pawn her off into my mom to take care of and wiped our hands clean of it and now we aren't taking. So I don't get a whole lot of Intel. If there is something I could use it's maybe some scripture references or guidance in terms of rearing difficult adult children (I'm not a real avid reader, so pages over books). Or other ideas that could help. We all need some family counseling but there aren't very good ones and I don't think everyone is up for it anyway. I'm to the point I think I'm going to just have to acknowledge there are things I cannot control and I have to come to terms with that.
