I was gonna say, I thought he'd be older. But he was like 19 or 20 when he was a rookie, so it makes sense. Although, he may have been a "Latin American" 19 year old, meaning he was really like 26.

Yep.  I didn't remember it but one of my co-workers said there was a question about his real age at the time.

Probably something to that, it's a shame they over used him early on as well.

Dude was a monster in RBI Baseball.   I taught myself how to throw a screwball in little league because of him.   That thing would stay so flat sometimes, some of those kids would have no problem squaring it up

 

I still can throw a screwball in slowpitch that can frustrates the cr@p out of some of these guys that probably played d2 ball and just come out trying to smash each week
