So, no ID was required to vote.

Recommended Posts

Just voted, pulled my wallet out and the lady said, "No ID required. Just your name."

Blue state.

I've never been asked for ID when voting in person. But they have always asked for my full legal name and address before giving me a ballot.  Then took a pen and crossed my name out after. And made me sign next to the ledger that I acknowledge I was given a ballot.  What podunk State do you live in?  I live in a "podunk State" called California, Alameda County (sooooo scarry)

It was weird...the guy in front of my wife and I pulled out his driver's license and it looked like they scanned it. I started pulling my license out of my wallet thinking (hoping) they would ask for it,  but they never did.

IMO, it's absolutely asinine to not ask a voter for ID

If someone shows up at my polling station, knowing my exact name and address and can sign my signature.... I'm less worried about them "Voting for me" and more worried about them "Murdering Me in my sleep"

No address. Just name and they pulled up the address on the screen and asked for confirmation.

Exact name? I know a bunch of people:s first and last names that live around me. Stop sticking up for stupidity.

Well again, what Podunk city do you live in?  I assume, there are safe guards in place to even register to begin with, no?

WTF? All you have to do is know a registered voters name in that area. You are disgusting. Go away.

I wanted to yell at the really old old people running things but I didn't want to be responsible for a heart attack.

Honestly, if you are so lame and bored. That you wanna show up and vote because you think "Hey my neighbor Larry Johnson may not vote today, so I'm gonna vote for him hehehe and I know it's a felony but I'm gonna try it anyway!"   That vote should count.

What’s the big deal about showing ID? It solves more issues than it causes.

So even though having an ID to vote is a major, gigantic issue for both sides, you're surprised?  Do you live in a cave or something>

I don't get it. I don't live in a cave and previously IDs were required but no longer. I guess it was surprising seeing the BS first hand.

Maybe you should have a more secure signature.

What are you crying about?  You think someone is gonna go pretend to be you and steal your vote?

Oh FFS grow up.   I want ID for voting too  but it isn't yet a requirement.  Stop being a baby.

ID's have never ever been required to vote.  It's dumb, but that's how it goes big fella.

And hope the other person doesn't vote or hasn't already voted and be willing to face a 10K fine and 5 years of jail time if caught(among all other safe guards in place). But let's face it, high risk(10K and Jail) is definitely worth the high reward of getting an extra vote.

They ask your name and address, then they check that against the voter registration log. They mark your name as having voted. I’ve been voting since 2000 and that is the way it has been every election.

All the other elections I've been to asked for ID. This one didn't ask for address. Just last name, then first,  and then they turn the screen for me to sign on a screen that displayed my address.
