If the Tigers face good pitching...they suck.

Not good come playoff time

Not a lot of that in the AL.

You only need a 3-man rotation come playoff time.  Mariners are pretty solid, should they stay healthy.

Was hoping to come out of Boston with at least one win in the series.  I guess it better be today if that's to happen.  Should be able to pull out a winning record in the next three series with the Twins, Nationals and White Sox coming up.

Ill agree here.   I hate Boston, Boston fans, and anything associated with the Red Sux.  So I hope your boys get one tonight

Juan Soto sucking it up.  Bigly.

Not a fan of giant, long term contracts in MLB.

rumors are Tarik Skubal wants 40 million for 10 years.  If that's the case, I have no problem if the Tigers let him go.

His 2025 nickname is Juan Solo.
Of his 20+ HRs only 4 of them had men on base. His average with men in scoring position is atrocious. As Mets fans say - there is always next year.

Boy, this a-hole does not disappoint. 🤨

Royals placed RHP Hunter Harvey on the 15-day injured list with a right adductor strain.
It’s the second trip to the injured list this season for the 30-year-old right-hander who just returned on July 25 after missing over three months with a right major teres sprain. No word yet on how long he’ll be shelved for this time around.

Tigers are done.  MAYBE make the playoffs, but won't go anywhere.  Did nothing substantial at the trade deadline and this is the result

After earlier in the season missing  a 12 game winning streak by one game that wins the city a free burger at George Webb, the Brew Crew hit the mark last night with a 12-5 win.  Though to be honest as a Wisconsin resident, free burgers is the last thing a lot the people in Milwaukee need.  Amazingly, according to the "experts", the Brewers don't have a single player that cracks the top 50 in MLB. This bunch of no-names has become one of my favorite teams ever.  🤞

MLB Rank 2025 in-season update: Ranking baseball's top 50 players

A week into the 2025 MLB season, we created our annual MLB Rank list of the top 100 players in baseball to answer the question: Who will be the best player in 2025?

More than four months later, we asked 17 ESPN MLB experts to give their ranking of the top 50 players in the sport this season. We averaged those lists to create our first MLB Rank in-season update -- giving us a chance not only to take a look at who has excelled this season, but also see what we got right (and wrong) on our initial top-100 player ranking.

(No top 50 players: CHW, LAA, TB, ATL, COL, MIL, STL)

That's because you're looking at ESPN.  Fox has 2 in their top 50

22. William Contreras, Milwaukee Brewers
38. Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers

My son has said the Brewers will become his NL team, since he just moved in to Madison yesterday.  He picked a good time to be a Brewers fan.

Dodgers fall out of first

Yankees are 6 games behind in the AL East

Tigers are seeing their huge lead slowly eroding

Mets 5 games back in the NL east.

Cubs now 7.5 games back of the Brewers.

Baseball is a long long season.    I could see all of these flipping back to the expected before the end of the season

Pretty much.  ;)

That wasn't targeted at you, that was at cmh's son...

I could see having a favorite AL and NL team before interleague play began and the universal DH, but now, you can't...

That is like cmh liking the Chiefs in the AFC and the Packers in the NFC because his son is in Wisconsin now...

I don't know, my KU roommate was from Dallas and was a Rangers and cowboys fan, but developed an affinity for the Chiefs and Royals just being around so many fans at the school he was attending.  I'm sure my boy will end up being friends with a bunch of packers fans as well :dunno:

That makes sense, but that just doesn't seem logical...  I guess the days of "if you are fan of one team, you don't like anyone else"...  But thanks for the information, it just seems weird...

I know, just busting balls.

Yeah, but if he likes going to games, the Brewers are his only option.  And as a college student, if he's like me(poor), he's probably going to be limited to in his television viewing, so the Brewers might be the only game in town. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and welcome him aboard the bandwagon with a brat!

this is pretty darn cool.  Cameron played for St. Joseph Central HS, where my son is a senior on the baseball team and making occasional starts in the rotation.  A bunch of Noah's close friends and family are making the trip to Tampa to watch him in his big league debut.

This post has aged well

Looks like pasquantino was just pulled.   Jac has been doing well with the rehab assignment but there hasn't been a need to rush him back with the deadline of acquisitions.   This could be a time to grab Jac in a buy low (waiver pickup) scenario if he's available, because a call up might be all he needs to finally start producing like we thought he could.

Mets prospect won his MLB debut today. Nolan McLean went 5 and a 1/3 no runs and 8Ks. Stuck out first batter he faced and made a nice defensive play with bases loaded hit back to pitcher and caught it behind his back and continued to assist turning double play to end the inning.

I'll still pay attention, but baseball is absolute CLOWN 🤡 SHOES 🤡 until they get a salary cap (and maybe floor).

AND full-time ABS. ☝️

@edjr why would they need ABS, for the bullpen carts? :dunno:
